Ind vs Pak or The Ashes - which rivalry is more fierce?

Recommended Posts

India and Pak rarely play so it is a rivalry without contests happening.

Ashes.....England and Aus is one sided. Aus wants to win but there is a significant section in the ECB that likes to lose to Aus.

Consider the cases

1) Larwood humiliates Aus and shatters the myth of Bradman in Aus - Larwood career over.

2) Frank "Typhoon" Tyson humiliates Aus in Aus and is rewarded by "cabbage patch" wickets at Northamptonshire that totally favored spin and ended Tyson's career...... supposedly.

3) John Snow with Illingworth's team beats Aus in Aus - They drop him in 74/75 and mess with his career over the Gavaskar incident which even Sunny says was not a big deal.

4) They make  Denness captain which ensures Boycott won't open against Lillee and Thommo in 74/75. Boycott came back in 1976 after Denness was canned and owned Aus bowlers in the series after that.

IND vs Pak cricket is media hype,no hype no trp(Ashes is too but not that level of cringe hype)

ICC is part of this, had their greed  not come their way of playing IND and Pak every year this would have remained a genuine arch rivalry

India vs Pak appeals to most, due to our history and ideological differences. The shorter formats are in totality more appealing between the 2 nations.

However for me, in the purest form of the game, nothing come close to Ashes. It's one of the best competition between the 2 sides, and considering the resurgence of English cricket team, the contest between them is of sheer quality. SA vs Australia is a close second.

Which India Vs Pakistan series? They haven't played each other in a Test match for over 15 years and comparing this series which never happens to Ashes which has a legacy of 100 plus years is a joke.

Even if the series was played in recent times, Ashes would always trump for the quality of cricket and the overall spectacle.
