thats true for all our batsmen infact they have a much longer track record of failing in KOs, KL has failed in one KO match so far and that was as an opener, infact leading up to that WC IIRC he was playing in the MO and was pushed up last minute  . He had a pretty decent WC before that semis where everyone failed.

If we limit it to ODI cricket, then 2019 WC SF was the only one where he failed. As that was his only appearence in an ODI KO.  But if we talk about white ball cricket in general (incl. T20), he is a repeat failure in every KO game.  Including the most recent one in the SF vs Eng (T20 WC 2022)

yes, he is a bigger choker in T20s than ODIs IMO
