The major difference between the team of 2011 which won and 2023 was the latter had Suresh Raina who delivered when needed and this team had SKY who people hyped to the sky because of his IPL exploits. Hope it's the end of SKY and also shows how under rated Raina was.

 

Now, four more years of MSD milking the 2011 win and taking all the credit for it.

Difference is this year we only have Jadeja who has won anything major in recent times with IPL win at CSk and no other winning mentality players

And Jadeja as expected enlighten us with 9(22) from the bat.

 

Please don't cloud your judgement based on CSK. When playing for India it doesn't matter what franchise you belong to.

India has flopped in 2014, 2016,2017, 2019 ICC tournaments when Dhoni, Ashwin & Jadeja all 3 played..even Kedar as well.

 

IPL El classico rivalry is good for trolling and banter, but in reality all the existing players for these teams are pea sized mental midgets.

If you look at that team we had 4/5 (Indian) ATG batters - SRT, young Kohli, Yuvraj, MS, arguably GG as well as he soaked up all the pressure up front!

To OP, only player I see as true successor of Raina is Rinku Singh.

He has been playing blinders for his team consistently from last 2-3 years, performed in IPL and then for India as well.

Let us make one thing clear. Not everyone was sold on SKY. Everyone was hoping for that one "miracle" innings which never came.
