Anyway I don't think it's mandatory for Gill to open if he continue to struggle against moving ball. Sai's calmness can be perfect foil to Jaiswal's aggression.

I was thinking in terms of left right combo. But Gill at #3 is fine too going forward.

They all have technical weaknesses - Gill, Sai, Varma - all of them.  Unless they play Test cricket that's not going to improve all of a sudden.

His game vs swing looks better than Ishan, Iyer, Ruturaj . Defence is tighter than Gill too .  So looks much better prospect to me looking at his age . I am talking from long format POV. Did not see him beaten by pace even at 90+ miles of Burger . Need to watch a bit more of him vs targeted bumpers .
