A young, dynamic Indian player with potential to be the face of the franchise deserves a higher price than 3.8cr. If they can't even match that's shows how poor they are.

 

Plus if they had to let go of one, it should've been Shashank. Shashank is 33 or 34 years old and not that clean a hitter as Ashutosh. Punjab owns this failure and RTM is a poor excuse for this fiasco.

yep not disagreeing. I'd have retained both of them and especially Ashutosh. Perhaps Ponting/Shreyas don't rate him

Has IT factor about him.Guys like this need to be given chances. Why does he have to be Impact player, he should be batting in place of Rizvi.

 

He is big guy and can hit the ball a mile.He should get more chances to play FC too.

Ashutosh Sharma was on 20 off 20 deliveries at one stage. And he ended up with 66 off 31! 

 

Let that sink in. Ashutosh went from 20(20) to 66(31). He scored 46 off the last 11 balls he faced! This is why you want your match-winners to face more deliveries so that they can have a better chance to settle in and make a difference. This is what KKR should do with Rinku as well, i.e. send him higher up.

 

In T20 your match-winners need to play more deliveries so they can make a difference. If they're simply there to play 8-10 deliveries an innings, you're wasting them and you may as well play an extra bowler.

He just did not win the match for DC, in fact he has raused hopes that IPL 18 will be much more interesting and high quality than it was ever before. 

 

The Stoinis knock against CSK last year was an amazing fightback, but this being from an uncapped player shows the promise that Indian cricketers possess. As this has come in starting matches, it augurs well for IPL 18.
