The problem is if Pant remains at 3, then either Jaiswal or Kohli has to bat at 4 or 5. Don't think either is fit for the role. However, Pant has played at 4 in IPL and has done decently well. So in order to get the best out of all the players, Jaiswal as opener, Kohli at 3, and Pant at 4 is the most optimal batting order.

 

In a perfect world, we would've Jaiswal and Abhishek opening with Pant, SKY, Parag, Rinku, and Pandya down the order. That would be one hell of a lineup. But here we are and we have to play with one hand tied behind our back and have to fit in our "seniors" in the team.
