He should adjust not the team. His best role is 4/5 to save in case of early wickets. Then he can do his tuk tuk too. The problem is if Pant remains at 3, then either Jaiswal or Kohli has to bat at 4 or 5. Don't think either is fit for the role. However, Pant has played at 4 in IPL and has done decently well. So in order to get the best out of all the players, Jaiswal as opener, Kohli at 3, and Pant at 4 is the most optimal batting order. In a perfect world, we would've Jaiswal and Abhishek opening with Pant, SKY, Parag, Rinku, and Pandya down the order. That would be one hell of a lineup. But here we are and we have to play with one hand tied behind our back and have to fit in our "seniors" in the team.

Number Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 Response from ChatGPT for this question ‐‐--------------‐------------------- Virat Kohli opening in the T20 World Cup is a strategic decision made by the team management based on several factors: Experience and Skill: Kohli is one of the most experienced and skilled batsmen in the Indian team. Opening allows him to face more deliveries and play a longer innings, utilizing his expertise to anchor the innings. Strengthening the Top Order: By opening with Kohli, India aims to strengthen their top-order batting. His presence at the top provides stability and sets a strong foundation for the team's innings. Flexibility in Batting Order: Opening with Kohli gives flexibility to the team management in handling the batting order. It allows them to use other aggressive batsmen like Rohit Sharma or KL Rahul in different roles based on match situations. T20 Specific Strategy: In T20 cricket, maximizing the use of powerplay overs is crucial. Kohli's ability to rotate strike and find gaps early in the innings can capitalize on the fielding restrictions during the powerplay. Captaincy Decision: As the captain of the Indian team (at the time of T20 World Cup 2021), Kohli would have had a significant say in this decision, aligning it with the team's overall strategy and his personal strengths. Overall, Kohli opening in the T20 World Cup is aimed at optimizing India's batting lineup and leveraging his batting prowess in a key role to give the team a competitive edge. ‐------------------------------------
