People need to stop comparing with asia. We dominated the Asian cup so much that it's not worth listing.

Pakistan: reached finals in 2022 t20 wc but nothing much else since 2017 champions trophy. Seem to lack spinners. Will make it to the knockouts every 4 to 5 loi tournaments.

Bd: lol

Sl: seem to have gone into terminal decline. Can't remember last time they reached semis. Need a new golden gen. Doubt it will come.

Afghanistan: on the rise but will need atleast a decade to truly challenge.

Gap will grow in the future. Our true rivals are Aussies.

This.

Blunt truth is despite the win we struggle against sena countries. It's lucky we were playing serial bottlers.

It's not a surprise that we had our best run 2007 to 2013 when we played pak in 2007 finals and sl in 2011.

India needs pak and sl to be reaching the final stages so that they can play them to win.

Both india england and aus will go through rebuilds in the loi. We have 4 players calling quits and aus I think should have 5. England have 3.

2007 t20 wc we beat Aus in SF, 2011 WC we beat Aus in QF (defending champs) and 2013 CT we beat England in final (and pretty sure we beat SA there). In ODIs India are still a very good side as Rohit and Kohli are still good there. In t20s our approach has been lacking.

We did beat Aus in knockouts in 2007 and 2011 though.

That set of Indian players wasn't intimidated by Aus in KOs. Present guys are scared of them, maybe an infusion of young blood will turn tables. Too many scars atm, Nov 19 will be tough to overcome.

Yuvraj was big factor. Quite underrated in terms of our ODI legends.

We need to find the next Yuvi in terms of talent and fearlessness.

Eng is another team that isn't scared of Aus. Skillwise mostly inferior but they don't show fear.

2004 CT SF, 2010 WT20 F, 2019 WC SF

Eng too never had a Yuvi.

Think for us it was more a run of bad luck and some brain dead decisions. 2015 sf vs aus for example we had past it dhoni, jadhav and rahane...we had no hope in hell vs aus. 2023 we tried being too cute with the pitch.

Now that the jinx has lifted our players will play freely. We need better selections too.

Well pant will kill them in tests. They are scared of him. Probably in odi too

In t20 I don't know. It's always a lottery

We haven't killed Aus in a KO since 2011 WC QF.

3/3 for them. Let us start by winning one, then make such statements.

JFM would come in for Warner... I reckon Marsh Stoins David will stay along with Maxwell.

Ellis will replace Starc.. and Spencer Johnson.

This is short term for CT25.

The U19 team is way too Green at this point but expect them to be world beaters in next 4-5 years after grooming in Shield cricket.

Aussies have an aura in KOs. Most teams make stupid decisions against them, RSA as well in last year's SF.

Wtc final is a bit meh when we smoked them at home 2x, once with net bowlers. 2015 sf we were not even close to being a better side. 2023 f is a big one agree but we got some measure by smashing them out this time. And we also beat them in 2016 quasi QF. I agree with your point in general

Hope yesterday's win has ended the KO mental block for Team India. Before the drought period, we had one of the best KO records against Aus.

1998 and 2000 CT

2007 WT20

2011 WC QF

And that Aussie team had a bigger aura.....this Aussie side is gun but not as ugly as Waugh/Ponting led ones.
