vvvslaxman Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Consistency is an outdated term in T20. It is all about net impact. No need for 50 runs in 40 balls anymore. SA nearly did that with that approach, Look at SA"s win probability around the 15th over. Let us not pretend Indian batting "did enough" to win the match. We didn't. SA was way way ahead of the rate with their much more impactful cameos at the top. It is one of those beastly death-over spells in history that helped us achieve the impossible in conjunction with the most consequential catch in world T20 final history. This habit of shifting the blame on bowling every time the batting posted a below-par came to a screeching halt. You know what is silencing the critics. What Rohit did with the bat against Australia. He never deserved a spot in the XI. Never had a great track record in world T20. He was blocking Jaiswal. Between Kohli and ROhti only one who redeemed himself convincingly. Moment they lost the 5th wickey they were finished. Fine margins They clearly lost to the better team. Spinners were poor that day. Edited July 8, 2024 by Kron

Load the side with good impactful batter with multi skill. You always get out of tougher situations more often than not than when you load the side with statpadders and tailenders. It's better to add depth and go with batters who bat with intent than the stats-padders. Bumrah cleaned up Kohli's cr@p in the final else it would've been a repeat of 2022 WT20 semi-final where Kohli played a similar stats-padding innings to get us to a below par total and then blame went to the bowlers. Rohit learned from the experience whereas Kohli was still the same. Thankfully, he's finally gone and we can field a modern T20 team without a top order batsman holding them back vvvslaxman and singhvivek141 2

All dynamic players Klassen Miller Markram yes him too Qdk That's 4 quality dynamic players who can win the match on their own in t20 But jansen has been the huge let down. Ever since he got that pasting from rohit and when bumrah bullied him a little with bowling, he hasn't been the same ever since. He has been getting thrashed in bowling and getting destroyed in batting too.

Salah averages 48 lmao now. 28 since 2020 0 performances in 4 innings in 2 wtc finals.

Thats another half baked analysis, why dont you look at Indias winning probability when Sa started their innings, taht gives you actual idea whether Indian score was considered enough or not, SA wouldn't have come close if not for that Axar Patels over and Klassens Godly innings. If you are talking about ifs and buts, then the above stands true too. The problem is that I do understand Kohli should have accelerated earlier, but if you think that india could have scored more If Kohli didn't stay there then you are mistaken, we only had Pandya left apart from Dubey (who flopped heaviliy) and Jadeja who has never done anything int20s to even be considered a batsman, If Kohli got out after scoring 35 off 24, we would have easily lost as Pandya and dubey wouldnt have recoved us from 50/4 kinda situation.

Referring ro your last paragraph it is a mere assumption that India would not have recovered. Pandya and Jadeja were yet to come. Kukdeep can bat a bit. Axars hitting prowess suddenly doesn't go up because of Kohlis presence. He won a match from impossible situation by batting with tail in Windies. The fact you suggest Kohli will get out if he attacks only means he cannot accelerate without getting out. You can score quickly without getting out. Especially if he Is labeled as GOAT and coming into WC with rich vein of form in IPL he should back himself to score quickly. If he can't do then stop dissing youngsters using this innings as an example Ultimate_Game 1

This is RCB type of logic and we can all see why RCB is the laughing stock of IPL with the so called "King" at the helm. When likes of Axar and Dube outbat you in the final, you know you're past it. Thanks to Bumrah, and Pandya who managed to clean the mess created by the "King" else it was a repeat of 2022 WT20 SF where Kohli played a similar match-losing innings, which TBH is his forte for over a decade now.
jf1gp_1 Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Indian cricket fans have 2 levels. level 1 : we are the king and everyone else should kiss our feet (after a win). Let's take the latest example, after Perth win discussion was can Aussies avoid 5-0 washout. Level 2 : we are humiliated, drop everyone, drop the coach, clean up cricket, BCCI is devil (after a loss). Example .. what is about to happen in 1hr once Aussies score 5 or 10 whatever lead we take. singhvivek141 1
