Bowl Out & Super Over wins don't count as wins in head to head, odd rule

India in its T20 history have won 1 Bowl Out and 4 Super Overs.

 

In head to head record these are classified as ties which is odd.

 

1 Bowl Out win Vs Pak in 2007

2 Super Over wins Vs NZ in 2020

1 Super Over win Vs Afg in 2024

1 Super Over win Vs SL in 2024

 

If they are not going to be counted as outright wins then what is the point of having Super Overs.

 

The irony of this is England won 2019 WC based on boundary count lol.

There is a difference between the two cases. In case of India, Super over was the deciding factor, it resulted in win or loss.

 

In the World Cup, Super Over wasn't the deciding factor. England won the World Cup after tieing the super over through boundary count rule. Head to head record not affecting after winning the super over is different from winning a World Cup after tieing the super over and result being decided based on which team hit more boundaries in the game.

Super over should only be for knockout out games or decider games. There is a romance to a tied game it limited overs cricket. I grew up in the 90s where we saw some of the greatest tied games. I think penalty shoot out in football also happens only in knockouts. 
 

Also super over should be atleast 2 overs. 1 over is too much lottery.
