Outbowled Prabath btw every left arm spinner has a weakness vs a left hander in modern day cricket.

It's a negative match up for a reason.

You need a rank turner to trouble a left hander ball after ball if you are a SLA.

T20s and test are diff. 

 

If suthar is genuine turner of the ball he will be okay in long term but if he is some1 reliant on conditions than its different matter.

In test for a LA spinner to a LH batter you are looking for a LB with a ball turning in or with an arm ball skidding into the pads.  

 

Think with sl, firstly credit to batters they batted well second ball was not getting much zip so spin is manageable, off-spinner should have worked but didnt for Ind.But should be a good learning

That's a pitch dependent stuff as well.. you need kick off the surface to rap a batter by bowling round the wicket to trap a guy lbw..  SSC got really slow by day 5.  It needed a pacer with pace to blow away the lower order by either bouncers or yorkers.

 

Suthar also has unique ability like he showed in Galle to go over the wicket and get ball to straighten from the angle to the LHB.. bringing both lbw and short leg into play.

 

Indian spinners especially left arm spinners usually don't bring close in fielders into play except Suthar.

 

Mostly bowled and LBWs coz of the rank turning surfaces we play on

Wrist spinner does not need to flight, they can be flatter plus they are more effective on flatter wickets.

 

Finger spinners are more effective on pitches which offer more assistance like Galle.
