Manav Suthar's meteoric rise from the lone cricket facility in Sri Ganganagar, a remote outpost of Rajasthan, to the periphery of the national team has generated tremendous excitement within Indian cricket.

 

Suthar, a classical left-arm spinner, picked up 10 wickets at 19.50 for India A at the Emerging Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. In November-December, he toured South Africa with India A. Earlier this year, he played for India A against the England Lions in Ahmedabad.

 

Suthar' in his Duleep Trophy debut showed stunning exhibition of left-arm spin bowling . He picked up 7 for 59 in India D's second innings, and then made a crucial unbeaten 19 from No. 8 to help his team, India C, clinch a low-scoring thriller.

Him & Nishant Sindhu are next big things in Indian Cricket.

Suthar is more like Ashwin...a classy spinner who can bat.

Nishant can be a world class allrounder, solid with bat and decent with ball...something which we expect from Sundar.

May be better than jadeja but we still need sla who can dart it regularly esp against lhb.

Manav selected for Afghanistan series

Touted as a red-ball specialist from his age-group days, Suthar has been prolific with his classical left-arm-spin right from a breakout 2022-23 Ranji Trophy, where he picked up 39 wickets in six matches.

 

 

Since then, Suthar has been a regular in India Emerging and India A squads. His giant leap came on his Duleep Trophy debut in 2024, when he claimed 7 for 49 on a flat Anantapur pitch to script a low-scoring win. 

 

Despite featuring in only three Ranji matches in 2025-26, he still picked up 18 wickets , including a match-winning 8 for 42 against Chhattisgarh. Overall, Suthar has 129 wickets in 29 first-class games, along with a century and six half-centuries that underline his batting chops.
