Wouldn't it make more sense for Sarfaraz, Harshit and Mayank Yadav to play Vs Aus A and not just traveling reserves or even playing for India at home Vs NZ (in Khans cae)

No it would not, Ind vs Nz is international test cricket, you cannot send a player from the main team to play for India A.

 

Sarfaraz scored a 100 today, the confidence that he would get from this is incomparable to Ind A.

Not sure. This A tour is to prepare for Australia full tour and Sarfaraz will be part of test squad. Australia A attack would be a sterner test for Sarfaraz than whatever NZ can throw at him at home. Plus if Gill is fit he is back on the bench unfortunately (let's hope not...)
