Isn’t the renewal / review in July of this year? It can definitely be canceled or updated significantly.

CUSMA isn’t being renegotiated. There is a review this year, and if an agreement isn’t reached, the same deal stays in place until 2036 with annual reviews. The review this year is to determine if the expiry is extended to 2052. That doesn’t mean the US will follow the deal they agreed to, but this fact is precisely why Canada needs to set up new deals that exclude the US.

Well the USMCA allows a party to simply withdraw from it. So then Canada n Mexico can trade all they want with each other. But yeah ideally that would require congressional approval but that’s not a factor lately.

Yes, that is something that Canada should definitely do - and they r doing that.

But the point I’m making is the way their economy is structured and the things they export, US is intertwined and it’s not just by choice but due to feasibility.

Trump said in a social media post. “If Canada makes a deal with China, it will immediately be hit with a 100% Tariff against all Canadian goods and products coming into the U.S.A.”

Here we go again! This was always going to happen.
Let’s see how Carney reacts n more importantly his actions after 70 percent trade is hit with 100 percent tariff. Entertaining stuff!

This is becoming predictable now. Other sides can game this out. Trump can levy 100% tariff. Who will pay for it.

Off course its so predictable n that’s why tactical thinking is important.

I would guess IF that stays, Canada in recession, n some small hit to US gdp too (oil inflation until adjustment). Market shock initially and then dip buyers emerge n make money - n yeah off chance that this builds some more dissenting opinions within. But for that Carneys response (action) is very crucial.

But offcourse this won’t stick long. Also I don’t think this will impact USMCA stuff immediately as revoking will take some time. So until then it’s not that big of a deal.

Don't think it's about tariff or Canada. Trump wants to drag China out. China has so far been smart to not take the bait. Let's see. But WW3 showdown is counting down. Maybe another 2-3 years max

Naah. I honestly think it’s just the ego which got hurt by Carneys speech. It’s nothing complex - but something emotional / as simple as that.
But yeah that does not mean there will be no other entities taking the bait.

Protests are going to intensify after this latest killing. Trump is going to use it declare emergency, he is going to use federal forces to intimidate ppl in midterms.

Absolutely horrific.
The gray guy even disarmed him. And importantly he appears to turn back before the first shot - corroborating the fact that he successfully disarmed him.

We are in wrong discussion. If guy “had a gun”.  and “intended” to use it, he could have used it from a distance., assuming he har gun. Thats Big assumption

I m o this Seems like assassination. A Cold blood assassination. If i am to guess , all ICE agents are from

White Americans Supremacist group choosen frim US Army. They feel no pain in killing  because they think they are fighting for a cause. Trained killing machines

Now real story. US has no allies left. Europe or Canada or India. Infacr West is divided. Distrust level

of EU canada to US is same as indians of Us.

Mid East told them not to Use their base in their country against Iran. Importance of Pak.

Now, to top it,  Based on US Bond stat data i can safely say that China has already won. Its just matter of time for American to realise and accept the fact
