Can we use this thread for compiling stats and gathering unique insights.

 

For example- One metric  for Sachin vs Virat odi comparison -  what percentage of top order batsman got out caught behind or lbw/bowled in the first 8 overs of odis during 1990-2007 vs 2008 - present.

In T20Is we have played 89 matches ( giving results ) between 2022 - 2024 and scored 16 centuries. So a century is coming every 5.5 matches. Before that ( 2005-2021 ) we scored 7 centuries in almost 150 matches. 
Incredible conversation rate.

Our batters are onto something special in this format. 

This is similar to what sachin did in ODIs in 90s.. till 1995 end Sidhu with 5 centuries was leading the 100s list and by end of 2000- in just 5 years Sachin had scored 27 centuries

I would say phasing out seniors and them not playing in bilaterals had a lot to do with it.

Century is a useless stat in T20s. Would rather have a 40 ball 90 than 50 ball ton.

 

It also belittles the work of middle order who cant get there and everybody wants to bat in top order.

Yes it was in the past but our new gen batters have the mindset to get there in 50 balls or less. Once a batsman is in flow I would rather want him to go on than let in a new batsman unless he is really slowing down. Remember we don't have the middle/lower order of a WI or others who can tonk sixes from ball 1
