I think SA will have a real chance against Australia.

Rooting for them

They won't be facing Mitchell Hamza Starc, Abbas Boland and Cummins Jamal. :p:

I'd say Maharaj is a generational talent for SA, may end up as their best spinner ever :om:

He was quite poor in India though when they toured. Dunno when they tour us next

Quite surprising that SA tours Ind for test series very rarely.  Their last tour was in 2019.  LOL.   While we keep touring SA every couple of yrs.

Flat pitches, BRat/RGS/Pujara/Rahane/RJ all made hay on those tracks!

Ashwin-Jadeja did well with the ball though

In part because of our batting, that series both our batting & bowling were at or near peak. SA was also in massive transition with AB/Steyn retiring & Amla was past his best.

true but when you call him generational, I think spin version of Bumrah. He's just good by SA standards

Advantage with bowlers like Maharaj and Lyon is They can continue to get better with not a lot of competition from others. They get extended runs and are not expected to be mainstay of attack either at home or most of away tours except subcontinent.

they can chip in with 1-2 wickets are people are happy.

They caught good point about a Babar. He slows down after 50 not just in tests but also ODIs and then gets little iffy and gets out.

still has looked good throughout last few tests showing that dropping can do wonders for getting people to be serious.
