Batting standards weren't low. It's just that the selectors never gave others a chance. When likes of Kohli, Rohit, KL Rahul and to an extent Rahane and Pujara were automatic selections despite failing more often than not, you can't blame the batting standards. It was a selection failure. Performances of Nitish Reddy, Sarfaraz, Jurel, Jaiswal etc. has shown that if youngsters were given a chance and backed, we do a lot better. Lord 1
Gollum Posted January 26, 2025 Posted January 26, 2025 (edited) Already 37, if he had announced retirement that day in Barbados, history would have remembered him so fondly. All the good work undone in last 4 months, steepest fall for any cricketer I can remember, and not just as a player. He'll be abused by one and all when he finally calls it quits, that will be his legacy. Edited January 26, 2025 by Gollum
