The team that India played last night or even England one would beat this side 10/10 times in Wanderers or Birmingham or Adelaide.

They can prove that by winning the t20 world cup next year. Anything less than that and the above statement will be false.

So the icc declared team automatically becomes the best xi?

Rohit was our best all format batsman in the 2019-23 period. He was really good even in the T20 WC last year.

I actually wished he stayed in the T20s and retired from the longer formats. He was the best 6 hitter in the world against quality pace. Still might play quick cameos in T20s but can't play long innings.

Nah, you needed things like an epic choke by SA when 30 is needed of 30 balls,.that doesn't happen all the time.

Luck plays a huge factor too.

Not in all formats nope, he had one great year in tests i.e. 2021 but either side of it he was "great" only at home!

Our batting standards have been very low in the last 5 years. Rohit was Andhon mein Kana Raja.

Retired from the wrong format

Age and Fitness both are catching up with him.   Only a matter of time that he starts to struggle in t20s too. His 10 ball 20 kind of innings are not going to be a frequent occurrence henceforth.    Next T20WC is still 2 yrs away.  It was the right decision to retire from t20.  In fact, he should hv retired from all 3 formats.  I would be really surprised if he can lead our team to CT Final.  Let alone win it.
