SL would have won the test series also but they prepared god awful pitches.

SL is following same pattern as bd, SL was not winning anything and then they decided to go to turning tracks and now they are winning against big teams.

This tactics do more harm in longer term as on good pitches such teams are not able to bat or bowl.

 

In test it is okay as every team has pitches which suites them and provide edge to home team. But in white ball cricket where most team or most wkts are good batting surfaces and one team start making bowling friendly wkt may win them matches at home but at other places they will lose or not even be a competition.

 

Its not that other teams does not have technique to bact on such pitches its how white-ball cricket is played these days. team comes try to follow the their template which it to get to 300+ runs. In Odis these days every team batting 1st aim to get atleast 300 on the board and have their own way of doing it.

Who is this guy Mathew Short? Looks like a proper nightwatchman.  Not sure why Aus are playing him as an opener.  He missed a straight delivery (which was a nothing delivery) by nearly One foot. And got out LBW.  Took a review also with him.   Even the commies couldn't stop laughing.   Right now in LOI, Aus hv got some of the worst openers (except T Head).   No wonder D Warner had to hang around for so long.

Jake Fraser is another terrible opener Aus hv got.   Absolutely Zero foot work no matter what kind of delivery he faces.  A walking wicket against any hint of swing or spin.. Reminds me of Rajat Patidar.

short has been good in bbl , this is now aus prototype of white-ball batters, ppl who can hit 4/6 hard hitters plus some bowling ability.

all are like this mcgurk, short, owens, hardy
