He was awful in England and vs Pakistan. Excellent vs Australia and mostly good everywhere else.

He scored over 2000 runs against ATG team. The funny thing is he played on some of the easiest tracks against Pakistan, England. He always missed out on easy runs. Almost always played a boring shot and got out. He still averaged 50 after 2000.

I think he struggled vs Asif and England conditions may not be conducive for his batting as he lacked feet movement. It was more about hand eye coordination and of course delivering under pressure situations was his forte. Amazing player but I think he did well against the other 6 teams and failed against England, Pakistan.

But still only one pitch was conducive to seam bowling. HE was not the only one who failed. Others also failed. But in other matches he failed to statpad. He had issue against incoming delivery. Lot of times he was bowled. He was good against bounce though.

Yes he and Sehwag failed in England but performed in Aus
