I remember seeing this sometime in the 90s and never since, Junior gavaskar used to play it then.

Ind won by pure luck yesterday. Lost today to UAE and Kuwait. About to lose to Nepal. Ind has been the most pathetic team in the tournament. What a god awful way to tarnish the country's name. I know it's a fun tournament but all the other teams batting Pak have also sent their retired teams. Look at what Ind gathered. Joker Uthappa, Lodu and Loser DK, who the fukkk Chipli, Nadeem...man. I have never seen such a pathetic team sent in any format. Shame on the players for playing here and accepting money knowing that they can't do jack in this format. I mean DK is bowling ...WTF !! Chipli bowled 11 fultosses. Have seen many tamasha leagues but even our buddha team is better than the crap dished out by DK.

Nadeem played in '21 home series against Eng, 1st test in Chennai. Root gave him proper phainta (scored 230) and this guy never got another chance. He played because of Jaduu's injury (fracture from the 20 MCG test). After that test, Axar debuted and owned the Poms rest of the series.

@nitinbwj you are getting unnecessarily worked up over an irrelevant tournament. Even among exhos, this is an unimportant one. And we aren't Pak that we will send our young guns for this, when we have Ind-A, U-19, Ranji competitions going on, all of which are 1000 times more important.

Mentor Singh Dhoni, Raina, Pathan bros, and a couple of past it hacks like Tripathy, Nitish Rana. This was enough to win this event. But I doubt some of those names have the time, energy or financial incentive to take part. Moreover those are big names, beyond the aukaat of a local Hong Kong exhibition.

That was the flattest pitch of the series so he might feel hard done by. On the rest of the minefields i wouldn't have bet against him to take many wickets.

Yeah but even on that pitch he seemed too slow to trouble international batters. And a timid loserish attitude, even as batsman got out feebly plodding to close in catchers. 

 

Axar was an important find for us that series. Took his chances immediately and kept proving himself in all formats. A rare guy who has delivered for us in all formats in the recent past, BGT 23 home series, 24 T20 WC, 25 CT. All marquee assignments.

Could've sent local T20 guys... Folks like Himmat Singh from DPL and some other random TNPL tullas.

 

SA has basically done that.  Aus too sent McDermott and Chris Green..

@Gollum true it's a tamasha tournament but it has its legacy and I have never seen such a pathetic team. Big names but in wrong format. We have local players who don't get the opportunity ever. Why these Uthappas and DK's and Nadeem's. It's not a charity that they are doing. They are getting paid for it.  Heck even Gony would have tonked a few here. All out for 45.  Irrelevant or not it was humiliating.
