Most Indians are friendly, chill, tolerant in real life, who mind their business and are also helpful, welcoming to outsiders. Media and certain vested political groups overblow isolated incidents for their own selfish interests, and these things get amplified on SM, pitting Indians against fellow Indians. This whole regionalism ka keeda is being done by a certain desperate ecosystem in India. Talking about langauge here, caste/religion are a bit more sensitive topics. Pretty sure 99.99....9% of Marathis will never resort to hooliganism, violence, or aggression over language issues with outsiders. Remember it is Mumbai which opens its arms for maximum people from UP, Bihar to come in ,settle and upgrade the quality of their lives. It is Mumbai which is home to the Hindi film industry, despite that industry not giving local culture, actors their due. Also there is the population issue. We have many rape/molestation cases getting prominence and media coverage, but look at the per capita numbers. India isn't a rape nation as is portrayed in the West. Likewise here. You see these kinds of videos, can always trace back to some political/activist group or YT chapri desperate for clout and attention. In general, I am a very social person who strikes up conversations even with strangers, have had many interactions with drivers, labourers, security staff, canteen/coffeehouse workers (of Bengal, UP, Bihar, NE, Nepal origin) in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad. They always had nice things to say about the locals. Language or region was never a major issue for them, but food was (thora bahut sabko adjust karna padta hai). They were grateful for opportunities to get work, even if far away from their native places. If anything, those chaps would have grouse about the state of their native villages/towns for lack of opportunities. Edited November 21, 2025 by Gollum Lord 1

Eventually people follow when these guys get away with it. Bengaluru is a wonderful city for outsiders. And rural Kannadiga folks are also humble and welcoming. Common people are always nice. There is a temple near my place where Kannadiga/Telugu/Tamil speaking devotees (housewife aunties) prepare food for annadanam in the mornings, and construction workers (Hindi or Bengali speaking) come with tiffin boxes to fill and take to work, no charges or expectations, just good vibes. Few autowallas are goons, but they trouble everyone, locals are also not spared. There is an agenda at play here to flare up the language issue. After they tried playing the caste card, now another font has been opened to divide Hindus. The perps responsible for bullying that kid should be punished, NDA is ruling Maharashtra, let us see what they do.

That girl already had some breathing issues, she passed away the next day. In Palghar, Maharashtra. Teacher was a certain Mamta Yadav, and she picked this particular Konkani girl to set an example. Is the victim's life here worth less? Bullies don't care, they usually pick on people who they perceive as docile. One of my Rajasthani friend was slapped in Navi Mumbai on a local, coz he kind of climbed in "their" train coach. Another Odia colleague was abused in a city bus in Kolkata coz he didnt knew Bengali. One Telugu frind have faced issue in Coimbatore...as due to rent issue his landlord called police and apparently used the word "golti" on him. But this doesn't mean whole state is bad. Those respective folks have switched jobs..yet they are in the same state.

I dont think these people are afriad of muslims....

True that, most Muslims in Karnataka and even in TN (Vellore region especially), speak a weird form of Urdu. Same with Hyderabadi Muslims and Dakhini. No language warrior will dare enter those places to impose his/her language. Skin will be peeled off..... Language wars only to divide dharmics.
