I think having rocket artillery, which can cover all of pak is probably second only to the nuclear program. Looking at the fiasco with tejas, I don't blame GoI for having back-ups. G_B_ Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Speaking of tejas, i think the way trump has behaved in venezuela and is talking abour greenland etc it makes sense to focus on mk2 with desi engine...else just shelve mk2. Even if the dems get in next time, its 3 years plus before India can rely on military supplies (if at all) and Trump's MAGA base is probably going to dominate the republican party so in a lurch.

Yes hopefully it is a short term fix (that's the best one can hope) and Pinaka long range doesn't meets the fate of Arjun... Import Bahadurs and Israelis will try their best to kill the program. Even the t90 and t72 upgrades are well thought out. Need to see if they go down the desi route for the 1350hp engine for t90. India needs 1000+ rocket artillary units. Will cover bd and pak very easily.
