is India even ready for war? If Pakistan ever try another Kargil or Operation Gibraltar, are we even prepared to fight?

Seems like corruption everywhere!

For Pakistan yes, as they rely on imports and can't sustain a actual conflict.

How much PL15,'s , Fateh rockets, medium range ballistic missiles or American AAMRAM's for their f16's they can muster in the event of a war?  A week max if we are being generous.  Most of their hard hitting assets will be useless...

Our Navy will wipe the floor with their tiny Navy.

They will have to resort to nuclear blackmail

In short An import army will always lose in the longer run.

Reverse the roles in the India - China situation.

Its not just ammunition - its also fuel and supply chain. Which is why Russia is a war machine. Which is also why we think choking China at Malacca Strait would be backbreaking for them ( it is a pipedream currently given how vast their navy is and we cannot do it alone ) ....

But blockading Karachi port and stopping shipments there - is a sureshot way to bring Pak to its knees early

Re russia,

They are producing lots of drones, 55 jets and around 300 t90 tanks. This is them full tilt vs ukraine

Hal will struggle to produce 20 in case of war. We are actually ok on the tank front as avadi has capacity for much more. Missiles too are fine. Can see india ramping up. Naval assets we cant produce subs quickly. But we can churn out destroyers and croevettes pretty well.

In the whole military set up hal is the weakest link. I am glad we are importing engines for mki fleet. (240). One of few birds hal can put together.

That can only be done in the case of World war...  Other countries will not allow this..

Only US has diplomatic pull to choke Malacca alone

Tejas with Kaveri could have given us numbers but our establishment and system lacks the foresight...  You don't need state of the art Fighter jets in case you are fighting a prolong battle.  It's the.Numbers that win you war..age old concept

Import ecosystem has done major damage to IAF.

Engine (be it tanks or jets or helicoptors) are the hardest bits to engineer. I think if they faced technological setbacks they should have gone down the tot route with tejas with france much earlier.

Our nuclear sub program heavily borrows from russia. This has allowed for breakthroughs and viable output.

So it could be we simply dont have the tech know how. For all their economic might the ws-15 engine has been around for a decade and only recently have the chinese deployed it on the j10c. Its clear in case of war the j10c especially will be produced in large numbers.

Our t72 upgrade from 750 to 1000hp relies of tot from russia. Lets see if this results in a 1350hp engine for our t90 upgrade. That itself will tell you if india can mass produce future tanks and infantry vehicles.

I think dry engine without after burner of 48kn is already built and at present testing is going on with safran and russia . Post that once goi certify , it will be ready to use for UCAV. Also what i heard is for tejas fighters they have already achieved 75 kn thrust with afterburner but they are facing weight issues, looks like they will go with dual engine and with weight reduction it can achieve power of 105 kn. But the time line for commission is by 2035 if everything goes well. Also it totally depends on upcoming government as well that how much priority they will give to this program.

Sorry, but the major damage to IAF is done by HAL.
Kaveri engine, even in the current form of thrust is underpowered to fly Tejas mk1a, not sure who was the brilliant engineer of HAL who designed a single engine fighter jet, knowing very well that single engine jets require extremely mature engine.
This single engine Tejas program played a key role in destroying the Naval variant of Tejas as well. Hence, Navy had to procure Mig29k's and Rafale-M's.

Russia, for decades relied on heavier, bigger, massive twin engine jets. And the HAL design engineer assumed we'll create a single engine fighter jet out of nowhere.

Dual engine Tejas is not even in the scope....TEDBF is the best bet for Kaveri twin engine as even AMCA is relying heavily on F414 for mk1 and Safran for mk2 variants.

Should have built desi upgraded Su27. China did this.

India badly needs to fast-track Nirbhay (ITCM variant) and achieve full indigenization and stop its dependency on Russian components.

Manik turbofan engine was last successfully tested in 2024.

Nirbhay in sizeable numbers is critical on both Pak and Chinese front.

Pak wont directly attack iran. 20% shia pop.

Their air space n intellligence is fair game.

Yeah could be.. this might be a standard naval exercise with probably some missile testing
