So its just a break even. Tejas mk2 and Rafales will drive the momentum to increase the squadron capacity, while AMCA & upgraded Su30MKI will increase it multi folds (although we will lose some MKIs which arrived in early 00s and the airframes are getting old). I don't have any confidence that we can do mk2 especially when we are struggling to do mk1

Then Amreekans and GE aren't able to solve their supply chain issue.
G_B_ Posted September 1 Posted September 1 The way i see it if mk1 and mk1a both get israeli aesa radar + brahmos ng and astra mk3. Whats point of mk2? Greater endurance ? but already have mki and rafales for that.

I hope GoI is considering everything before going ahead this time. Project Kusha might be matured by the time this comes along. Have we received the previous ones that we already paid for ?. Nope Russians have delayed by several years despite the payment paid well in advance. Russia Ukraine war has been a major roadblock and Russian industrial capability has been devastated coz of that. Critical components are being brought from China as well. Stan AF 1

singhvivek141 Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Something to cheer for, though its HAL so concerna are valid. But the Aravalli engine might see the day with IMRH. G_B_ 1

HAL signed a contract with Adani Defence & BEML for the construction of 90 odd (combined) fuselages for LCH Prachand on Aug 14. So things are moving it seems. Can HAL and Israeli partners give us even 7-8 aircrafts by end of the year is the question? HAL has a review meeting with IAF sometime in Sep. If IAF is satisfied then we can include them. Anyway, as long as it can carry Astra, Rudram, AMRAAM and guided bombs like TARA...with its EW suite...we should be good. Lone Wolf 1
singhvivek141 Posted September 4 Posted September 4 I consider it as a whitepill. TEDBF is extremely crucial for the Navy Air Fighter Groups. Lone Wolf 1
bsriharsha Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Some more SU57 news. I think we should take atleast 2 squadrons as a backup. singhvivek141 1

Anyway, Utsav ki taiyariyan karo. Good news indeed. If you read reports usa is actively looking at manufacturing outside usa (koreans look likely to build 20 to 30% of us navy ships in the near decade). Javelin is low tech enough for usa not to be worried but need a cheap n cheerful missile. India comes into play. I heard the c130 program too was looking at india. Likes of israel and european powers too will look at manufacture in india to keep costs low.
