With T20 WC scheduled in coming June, and an Olympic gold up for grabs in 2028, she has decided to step away because she feels she has lost the competitive edge. Maybe her underperformance in the WC SF last year has played its part, she failed with the bat and dropped an easy catch. Gilchrist also called his retirement suddenly after dropping Laxman's catch in 2008 Adelaide, retired on 98 tests, the thought of 100 tests never crossed his mind. Gollum Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Lanning retired at the age of 30, Healy now at 35. Perry the last woman standing from their 2013 WC winning team. If you count T20 WCs, these 3 have been winning since 2010 edition. Surely the greatest trio in women's cricket history.

On bigfooty, even when our women were on the verge of getting knocked out in group stage, many of their fans were calling Ind the 2nd best team of the tournament. They know their cricket. Quality>History. 1975-98, it was WI for them. Then RSA and now us. Since Australia is the gold standard in cricket, their acknowledgment carries a lot of value. Poms and Pooks can't cope with the changed dynamics, with Pooks it is even more personal because Aussies never acknowledge them as peers (unlike Eng and WI teams of the past who for some weird reason had soft corner for them). And 2-0 in ODI WC KOs. Aussie fans would gladly swap the bilateral dominance for these important defeats. In T20Is, they are far ahead. In fact all SENA teams are, they all have more power hitters.
