Gaekwad is a better bet. Just not very high ceiling though. Iyer also a good spin basher.

And also irrespective of whether a fielder is there or not. SKY can't hit anything in front of the wkt. He has just one scoring area and from 360 degrees his batting is now 30 degrees between fine leg and squarish fine feg.

Against top opponents and in pressure games, even at his peak, he was never 360 deg. Most overrated and also luckiest Indian cricketer ever !!!

Yup, he was always a minnow basher who scored against 2nd XI attacks in meaningless bilaterals. At his best he was a support player but mostly a non-factor. Iyer was always so much better and deserved to captain India but alas the MI bias went in favor of SKY. Plus didn't help that there's some bad blood between Gambhir and Iyer since their KKR days.

If he plays spin well, then might well be worth another try in the next home series, our current lot seem hopeless against spin. Also need to unearth some spinners who can outbowl opposition spinners atleast in home conditions. Want us to make our home the fortress that it was

TBF to Iran, most countries would like to play their matches outside the MAGALand. Majority of Latin American countries' fans risk being captured and put in concentration camps and TBH better to move matches out of Fascist States of America.
