I am assuming that Pakistan players agents has realized that IPL owners are buying teams in other leagues which is hampering their players involvement in those leagues. So agents may be trying to create some noise and put pressure on the ECB and team owners to consider picking a few Pakistan players.

The whole point is Irish people do not need a work permit to work in the UK . 

There are Northern Irish players in the Irish team and they live in the UK have British passports  but are treated as overseas players that is against the Law .

Eoin Morgan had dual citizenship because of his mother being English , had resided in England since age 15 . 

Quite a few Irish players played in the English counties but when Ireland became a " full member " they became " overseas " players and lost like every Irish person the automatic right to work in the UK as the same as any British person and became the same as Indians , Pakistanis etc . 

Every Scottish, English , Welsh, Northern Irish AND Irish person has exactly the same working rights in every workplace in the UK and vice versa in Ireland except in cricket. 

As I said Cricket rules don't override the Laws  of the country

Although your post has nothing to do with the issue with pakistani players, you are still missing a few crucial points.

The reason Irish players became "Overseas" in 2019 wasn't because they lost the right to work in the UK (the CTA remained unchanged by Brexit). It was because Ireland became a Full Member of the ICC.

ECB rules state that a "Home" player must be eligible to play for England.

Once Ireland gained Test status, a player could no longer represent both Ireland and an English county as a "local" because they were now committed to a rival Full Member nation.

If the ECB allowed Irish players to count as "locals" while playing for a different national team, they would be legally vulnerable to challenges from other nationalities (like South Africans or Australians with ancestral visas) claiming similar "special" treatment.

The claim that Northern Irish players with British passports are treated as "Overseas" and that this is "against the Law" is a misconception.

If a Northern Irish player chooses to represent Cricket Ireland (a different national federation), they are choosing to be an "Overseas" player in the eyes of the ECB's sporting regulations, regardless of their passport.

Labor law protects them from being barred from the office; it does not protect their "local" status in a private sports league if they play for a foreign national team.
