Going into any game in 2027-wc Ind will req. 6 bowling options. Can not burden pandaya+bhumrah with 20 overs.

Nkr/Iyer will not cut it need a bowler who can bat not a batter who can bowl.

Team needs to be selected keeping in mind all the limitations and constrains, Ind TM and selectors needs to keep an eye on IPL for a LH batter and seam bowling allrounder.

Number 8/9 + LH middle order batter will be vital for team, making it from7-7.5 point team to 8-8.5 point team on a scale of 1-10

Have posted same thing on other threads too ::--

  • Top 5 locked :::: Gill, Rohit, Kolhi, KL, Iyer

  • Backup opener + keeper :: Ishan Kishan/Rutu

  • LH middle order batter :: Sai

  • 5 front-line seamers :: Bhumrah, Siraj, Arshadeep, RamaKrishna Gosh/Nabi/Thakur/, Ashok/Mayank

  • 1–2 spinners :: Kuldeep, Axar

  • Hardik Pandya included

  • Overs coverage guaranteed

Not wise to lock in 40 year olds..

None of those to me look locked.

Gg has been given open field in loi.

Likes of thakur past it.

For which IPL team did Raj Bawa play this year

MI

Although tbh NKR/Bawa too young. They will come into play only in the 2030s.

Best Balanced XI

  1. Shubman Gill

  2. Rohit Sharma

  3. Virat Kohli

  4. Sai Sudharsan

  5. Shreyas Iyer

  6. KL Rahul

  7. Hardik Pandya

  8. Axar Patel

  9. Thakur/Nabi/Gosh/some 1 who is more of a pace bowler and can bat....*** kuldeep if its a spinning track

  10. Mohammed Siraj

  11. Jasprit Bumrah

This is more balanced side this is 8-8.5 point team on scale of 1-10. 5 bowling option, may be sai chip in with few off-spinners and He is LH batter in the middle order.

Bowling is weak.

Sai can be replaced by a batting allrounder for sixth bowling option. Maybe Parag? With no frontline spinner.

Gill

Sharma

Kohli

Iyer

Rahul

Parag

Pandya

Axar

Rana

Siraj

Bumrah

30 overs of frontline seam plus 20 decent all round overs pus Parag for lefties.

I have a very bad vibe about Kela.  Bad omen. 4 world cups. we lost all of them. 2 T20s, 2 ODI world cup. CT is not exactly world cup.  Short tournament. This guy will botch up another world cup.

Who are other options ??? A wk batter who can bat in middle order with kolhi+Iyer.

Rohit and Kolhi are locked and its above pay grade of TM and selectors to drop them. If they were to be dropped they would have been dropped by the end of the WC-23.

Where ever selectors and TM have pushed Rohit and kolhi to put in more effort and tell their future plans, its has been shown in -ive light in media and by many jurnos and media and social media ppl.

And on current form both of them make it to any Ind odi side.  Yes having 2/3 players in their 40s is not a bright idea but Ind team have boxed themselves into this.

Yes Thakur is no longer in the plan was just looking into the realistic options Ind have at this point in time.

Rohit,Gill, Kolhi, KL, Iyer and Pandaya are locked unless there is some injury. Only player in this can be little unsure is Iyer.

Get Sanju back into the ODI set up. Better keeper as well. Also a good reader of the game. Pant or Kishan anyone would do.

No LH batter is nt a good idea, Ind struggled to even rotate strike in Aus with all RH batters, Aus team was bowling back-of-length and have field on offside.

Runs started coming only when Ind sent Axar and they were able to rotate strike.

Parag not sure, he has just played 1 odi and sore 12-13 (if not wrong) , plus Ind will need LH batter in the middle. The other options can be sai/sundar/verma/kishan

Sanju can not bat at 5 or in mo, this in Odi quick 30-35 runs wont matter need ppl who can build partnerships.

Kishan is also a top order batter.

There is a reason why Pant is not in 11- He gets stuck can not rotate strike and is a unsure hitter. Players like kolhi/iyer who play in middle order will struggle to put up a partnership with him or any middle order batter will struggle to build a partnership with a batter who can not rotate strike and is unsure hitter.

How Rishab plays in white-ball-- He is unable to take singles, gets stuck and then plays a release shot without much conviction.

Thats wi of past when they were top t20i team with cleanest 6-hitter struggled in Odis, Odis is about building partnerships rotating strike and hit timely 4/6s.

Pollard /Gayle/bravo .. etc were all best at hitting 6s, but they were not good at rotating strike and hence team failed in Odis, the solution is not putting 1 random player who is there to hold on to his wkt, there is no point all that player is doing because other player is nt rotating strike he is also not roatating strike and will get out playing lot of ball and scoring nothing.

And to this case jus add rishab who is not good a clearing boundaries in white-ball cricket.

Not him, barely touches 125k. He is as good as Venkatesh Iyer or Shivam Dube if not better.
