@Lone Wolf bro have you seen Australian squad for A tour:phehe: they are picking buddha handscomb. Seems like they don't have batsmen

Handscomb really good in India May be that's the reason they pick him he can be a good number 3 for bgt in India

Kamboj vs Arshad Khan for that Harshit Rana spot may be a thing.

I'll take Arshad for now.

Yes even against Sri lanka a arshad play slightly better than kamboj

They may be planning for the BGT... They use these shadow tours for that purpose only.

Though its true they don't have batters left in Sheffield shield.  That's what you get when you prepare grassy decks even in FC.

England is producing pacers and batters in abundance.  But lacking in spinners.

There are no crowd pullers in domestic cricket after Kohli and Rohit retired. I've watched domestic matches at the Chinnaswamy featuring several international/IPL stars and hardly 100-200 people turned up. When Test matches barely get enough crowds, I don't see why people would throng the stadium to watch Duleep Trophy.

The final will be played in Chennai instead of the Chinnaswamy because of some lingering pushback from local authorities over the RCB stampede. It should get resolved over the next year or so.

Yes there is no crowd puller right now, thats fine, and thats the other issue that you can nt be prepared if something happens. If suddenly crowd come in fr  one day and you do not have adequate amount of crowd management system. The issue always is unexpected surge.

And if crowds are not coming there is no point in saying let it open fr crowd.

This is clearly done to avoid crowds and then here can be some secondary merits to this decision

Gauti bowlers that can bat. Project kamboj will be back again. To be fair Mukesh despite the flak he gets is a better bowler than Kamboj

Mukesh was very decent t20 bowler, he can bowl upfront and then at the last few over he can bowl yorkers after yorkers but he is not an odi or a test bowler.

Kamboj is getting serious backing not sure why and from where , but there are many videos of talking about him even when he was nt in team and then when everyone was saying Ind need allrounders saw some jurnos calling him allrounder as well.

Against Australia A he did well . Can't say the same about Kamboj who bowls gun barrel straight.  Mukesh atleast extracts some seam movement.

he alreday played test fr ind, he looked like a run of the mill bowler , no pace no effort, it looked like he was doing a throw downs

Probably small nibble. I can't believe he took all 10 wickets against a team.

Till now kamboj has proved to be over-hyped bowler. The thing is Ind ckt system like this kind of bowlers.

If anyone understood Ind crkt system and had a look at kamboj would know that he will get into the side.

He  seems to be accurate but not the kind of accurate that works in intnl crkt , he bowls into the rh and often drifts too much with no real pace to trouble.

You need bowler who are accurate on off stump line who can threaten both inside and out side edges and hit top of off.

Into the body accurate and habit of drifting too much with no real pace is easy picking for intnl batter just push the ball around get runs

They dint not have pace or other delivers to bowl more than 1st spell in Odis. And both were not test quality bowlers.

Test bowlers needs sustained pace, zip , bounce and high release. These bowlers work in all the conditions. And as Ind plays only 2 pacers in sc or sc like condition can not have medium militry pacer no matter how skillful they are.

The best of the best run of the mill is bhuvi, highly skilled but again was not able to have long/good test career because he lacked pace and once he tried he use to injure himself .

he said this himself that after inital success batter were able to play him so he needed to add pace.

You are right ... and we all know this.

Do you know why the Indian cricket system likes these kinds of moderately skilled medium pacers ?

Indian domestic pitches are slow turners...trundling makes shot making difficult. Bowling fast makes it easier for the batters to time the bowl as there is zero movement/help for the quick pacers.

Also, a 140-150k pacer has higher chances of injury than a 120-130k trundler. Domestic teams often prefers workhorses who can play games after games and share the new ball...while after 15-17 overs, anyway its just the spinners who will bowl at both ends.

Basically the habit which we ingrained after the partition or say from the era of fab 4 (Bedi, Prasanna, Venkat & Chandra), its still continues in Indian domestic cricket. Its the "by default", "out of the box" setup, changing which requires passion and effort.
