Plus Mukesh can't bat and his fielding is atrocious to say the least. Akashdeep is best of both worlds, he is as good with new ball as Mukesh, is a very good fielder and with bat he is capable (which everyone assumes Kambojh is as well). He is decent with old ball in conditions which favours his style of bowling. Akashdeep, if fit, can be a valuable asset in NZ provided he can bat at no 9 and contribute those useful runs to stich a 50-60 runs partnership with a set batter at the other end. tweaker 1

Plus Mukesh's real age maybe 35-36. Plus he had to be replaced by someone like Dravid even, for his lack of pace. And they had to bring in Akash. No point in bringing him back. 1 hour ago, singhvivek141 said: Akashdeep is best of both worlds, he is as good with new ball as Mukesh, is a very good fielder and with bat he is capable (which everyone assumes Kambojh is as well). Akashdeep averages 36 as a bowler after 10 tests. So he is not really a wicket taker. Looks good in patches but becomes very innocuous if the ball is not moving or gets old. And he is very unfit and drops oace 2/3rd of the time. We should look for younger, quicker, fitter options. Edited September 8 by express bowling tweaker 1
Rightarmfast Posted September 8 Posted September 8 I saw Shami bowl. He isn't that bad. Bowled around 83-85mph. That's fine.

His numbers took a beating due to Australia series..but if choice is between him, Mukesh or Kamboj...I will choose Akashdeep anyday. Ideally to we should bring in Ashok, Eden, Gurnoor as our mainstays in Tests and later Tyagi, Mayank as well provided they can sustain the load of FC. Bumrah, Prasidh, Siraj are all in 30s.
singhvivek141 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Rasheed looks good with the bat. Qureshi is just 1 FC old, how did he got an opportunity ahead of the rest ? Looks another favouritism by the EZ selector. Manucrick 1

singhvivek141 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Shami is around 128-133 kph range. He is still effective due to his skills...but does looks like a pale shadow of himself. Prime Shami would bowl 135-145k in any format. express bowling 1

They should try Harshit as No.8 in A-team tests and see if he has the fitness for that role. Siraj does not deserve a spot based on current form and ability. Don't mind Akash as the 5th pacer. Backup in case of injury. tweaker 1

They don't care about future, replacement, talents, speed , they just get done with their job of selecting the safe, way ie Kamboj etc. 24 minutes ago, singhvivek141 said: Gurnoor as our mainstays in Tests Gurnoor was not even risked against Afghanistan.A half fit out of rhythm Siraj was preferred over Gurnoor even after his 10 wicket haul against Sri Lanka A. 26 minutes ago, singhvivek141 said: Tyagi, Mayank as well They are not even considered for Duleep trophy. Manucrick Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Another wicket gone ddp gone sz deserve to lose because of their useless selection

Mohinder Amarnath, Roger Binny and Balwinder Sandhu won us WC 83 in England. Robinson is great in England. Does not mean they do well in other places. After long injury break, Akashdeep's form and fitness are totally unknown. And pitches / conditions are flatter in NZ compared to England, especially in the 2nd innings. tweaker 1
