King Tendulkar Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 He has IMO taken over the mantle of sultan of swing/seam after Wasim Akram. He is the master of making the balll talk in world cricket and has been superb over last couple of years. No other bowler in world cricket has such control over moving the ball around, he is a master at reverse swing as well with such control. He really is a top class act now!
Sachinism Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 So does that mean in a few years Zak will be saying, "Celebrate a good life with Kaloree1"
bharat297 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Yep he is the best seam/swing bowler in the world today but still not in the same league as Akram.
Ram Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Since his county stint, he's just a different bowler altogether. Its like he had an operation performed on his body. P.S; Not the one you're all thinking of, you spanners! :D

SachDan Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 He's always been a class act.Now that he's getting more control over swing makes him a deadly bowler. With out a shadow of doubt best left arm pace bowler in world cricket today. What amazes me even more is his fitness of late.At the start of the Aussie series who would have thought Zak will play in all 4 tests and 5 ODIs vs England with out a break up !
Gambit Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 If county cricket ever need someone to endorse for them, Zak would be that man.
King Tendulkar Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 Also being dropped for a year gave him the required kick up the ass needed.
DomainK Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Also being dropped for a year gave him the required kick up the ass needed. I think that drop made him realize and value the international status and created a fierce fighter out of him. Of course that county cricket stint taught him a lot.
King Tendulkar Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 The kick up the ass technique also had worked for sehwag and ganguly. But yes county cricket really helped ZK. RP could do with a stint there
THX_1138 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 maybe if i spent a year in english county cricket my grades would go up too! essex here i come...
CC1981 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Zak is bowling excellently - but lets not get carried away - there is one certain Chaminda Vaas around, who is credibly the best left arm pacer since Akram retired.
Sachinism Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 maybe if i spent a year in english county cricket my grades would go up too! essex here i come... Playing here really did help Zak, but now stupid BCCI don't allow players to come to England
flamy Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 The kick up the ass technique also had worked for sehwag and ganguly. But yes county cricket really helped ZK. RP could do with a stint there no country cricket. BCCI dhenged it
MalikBrother Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Wasim Akram has lost his mind. Surely, his attention toward to praise any an Indian cricketers. But he just insulted himself. Zaheer has managed to swing just for a few series and suddenly, he is new sultan of swing/seam after Akram? If that's case, then how did he forget about Tanvir who is swinging in both way and done everything as possible. I can not judge any bowler after a few series. Let's not get carried away. It's true that Zaheer is finest bowler at the moment, and consistently swinging in first ten overs and yorker in death which is brilliant. It's too early to regard him the title of new sultan of swing/seam. I have lost respect for him in matter of sensibilities

If Waz is rating someone as the 'next him', i am far likelier to take that seriously than your or any other random two-bit poster's opinion on a Mb.
MalikBrother Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Throw Billion dollars at Wasim Akram. He will rate Harbajjan Singh far better than Warne. No Offence! He is match fixer. Ready to sell his nation for dollars. At least, i am honest and not disgrace like him.
graphic23 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 He is the last truly match winning bowler you had. And he was not involved in any match fixing cases by the way.
