But why single him out when everyone is getting thrashed?[/quote'] Yes, being a senior spin bowler (when the expectation is more for spinners to get wickets than pace bowlers on these featherbeds), actually Sehwag should be singled out for not getting more wickets than just only 2..It's wrong to go after poor Bhajji.. Mr. Wicket
I havent watched a single ball yet' date=' so I dont know how he is doing. But why single him out when everyone is getting thrashed?[/quote'] Because in his case, it has been a continuing trend over the last few years. Proven match winner, Turbanator, Jazbaa and junoon and all that buesh-t that blind fanboy supporters use to try and wallpaper up his many deficiencies :wall: What happened to the concept of a spin bowler getting BETTER with time? The better ones like Kumble, Warne, Murali just developed more variety, tactics and methods of working and thinking a batsman out. Harbhajan's record on the other hand only goes downhill on a year to year basis. Last five years his bowling average has been several points higher than his overall career average, and the number gets even worse in recent times. Hell, this year alone he's been buying wickets at 50+/per! And this is our strike bowler who can't be dropped, is supposedly the future of Indian spin bowling and our head strike bowler? :wall: Or mebbe as asterix said, we're all being BIG ANTI PUNJABI MEANIES AND HARBHAJAN HATERS! Let us all aim the knives at Mithun, who being in his 2nd game ought to be blasting the opposition out with raw force and aggression and is the REAL reason we're watching Sri Lanka's score move faster than a London cabbie's meter. Or let's blame Sehwag and Ojha, who have also taken more wickets this match and series than our dear surd turd! :woot: Link to comment
Fontaine
It's time to drop Bhajji and bring in Murali Karthik. "The 33-year-old has now taken 26 wickets for Somerset in four Championship games at an average of just under 13." Let him play for a year or two before his retirement and in the mean time we can go about searching for the long term spin replacement because it sure as hell isn't a temperamental, one dimensional spinner who still has trouble with the basics like looping the ball above the batsmen's eyeline like Bhajji. Bhajji can stay on for the ODI squad and earn his place back through First class matches. He can no longer just be handed a test cap without merit. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Heck, we could offer Montu Panesar Indian citizenship. Not like they need him with that Swann fella around. :D Link to comment

Not like they need him with that Swann fella around. :D[/quote'] It's ridiculous isn't it? While the likes of Harris/Swann have steadily improved Bhajji's skills have taken a nose dive. We had no problem dropping players like Ishant/Rp Singh/Pathan/Sreesanth hell even Sehwag. But when it comes to Bhajji it's somehow impossible? He's bowled what 70 overs in this tour and gone wicketless. The past two years he's clearly regressing and yes he's had the odd very good performance thanks to spinning tracks on crumbling pitches but that's simply not good enough. Link to comment
The Realist
Kartik for the serial under performer would be ideal. However we know it's never gonna happen as Kartik is not part of the current clique nor does he have friends in high places. It appears that a previous argument that the only reason singh is in team is due to his friendship with sachin grows truer by the day. He surely is not a regular for sporting reasons. Link to comment

Pak_Fan_4_Eva
I wonder why the team retains its trust in harbhajan :S That guy has been pathetic to say the least and should`ve been kicked out long ago Link to comment
Fontaine
Poor Murali is not even being considered by BCCI If Bhajji/Ojha continue to under perform, then they'll have no choice. The pressure will be too great especially if Kartik continues to bowl well in England. Link to comment
Lord
Bhajji isnt going anywhere, atleast for Aussies n NZ series.looking at his record v Aussies at home,he might do okay.n if he does well n picks up a fifer,he'll live on that for the rest of his career Link to comment

Bhajji's godfather in Sachin.. Bhajji started building his relationship with Dhoni when he 'helped' Dhoni to get a Hummer. Then both of them enetered into a business relationship by opening a joint ownership business involving real estates in Mumbai. Bhajji is one of the most trusted friends of Dhoni.. Over the years, Bhajji has develped an Advertising Brand name which all the players should try to develope (by being controversial, attending and dancing with SRk events, Ramp shows, Reality TV and TV commercials). The IPL financial assurance is always there. So actually Bhajji and many Indian players can't be actually bothered and asked to perform...Zak has no competition hence he can 'afford' to get 'injured' and miss test matches..Bhajji can't take that risk even if he is unfit or injured. Bhajji will do well to make his mark in occasional, inbetween matches to 'roar back' and 'shut his critics' and then continue to be mediocre.. But Bhajji alone shouldn't be blamed for this. The system, Dhoni, sernior players like Sachin, Advertisement Mafia which dictates players selection are also to be blamed.. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
^ O and dont forget he has 350+ test wickets and is our 3rd highest wicket taker. But yeah what you said is the main reason he is in the side. Any other conspiracy theories to share with us?:--D Link to comment

Any other conspiracy theories to share with us?:--D You come up with that same **** every ****ing time. O he has 350+ test wickets and he is our 3rd highest wicket taker, and oh he's number this in the ICC rankings. Who gives a ****? For the past few years, apart from an odd test match here and there, sardarji has been a ****ing pedestrian in all of the other matches ( can't field, can't take wickets, and can't bat). Uhm, you're bound to get wickets when you bowl 572 more overs than the next person on the list. And he's only picked 24 more wickets in those 572 overs. http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=1;spanmax1=27+Jul+2010;spanmin1=27+Jul+2007;spanval1=span;team=6;template=results;type=bowling Link to comment
King Tendulkar
So basically you say he got wickets cos he bowled a lot. Are you really being that simplisitic? Link to comment
