Guest Hiten.
I was really peeved, when MSD and Bhajji opted a leg side field to Amla and Kallis. There was no sense in having such a field because RSA had no reason to try and attack the ball against the spin. They were more then happy to rotate the strike which they did more often than not. If RSA were in defensive mind sets then India were too equally guilty of being overly defensive. I wanted to see more attacking field to Bhajji because he was actually forced to throw darts on the leg side with such a field placement (I guess he's equally guilty in agreeing/coming up with the open leg side field :wall:). Bhajji was actually ripping the ball at times y'day and then was forced into the shell of T20 mindset with such a field placement. Comparatively Mishra was much better and more disciplined than Bhajji and a bit unfortunate in not getting the appeal upheld against kallis (previous over before Kallis got out to bhajji). And don't forget the number of times he actually beat a well settled Kallis and Amla only to watch the ball go outside edge. Bhajji's beehive Mishra's beehive Link to comment
vvvslaxman
That was a horrible line for an off spinner. Link to comment
Cricketics
It's baseless to blame Harbhajan. There are 2 kind of people. Few watch initial spell and praise the bowler so much that if he ends up bowling poor in later spells, like how Zaheer had done lot of time sin the past, they would keep on priaising the guy. Then there are people who would watch one spell or session and blame Bhajji for bowling poor in that. They won't mention how well he bowled in later part of the game. In this instance, it's unfair to Harbhajan. Both he and Mishra really bowled well later in the game. Link to comment

Ranjha
Harbhajan bowled really well on day 2..Whereas, Mishra was really bad. But its only day 2. Also, what about the other bowers? Zak was good for first 15 mins. Link to comment

Ranjha
Bigger problem is that he is un-drop-able :wall: I think the bigger problem is that we are unable to find a better spinner than him. Come back at the end of this test or series and we can compare Bhajji and Mishra's stats. Link to comment

Its difficult to get used to it as we never had that problem Link to comment

Guest Hiten.
There is no sense in replacing Bhajji because he is still our best spin bowler and we depend heavily on him at least in the subcontinent. We simply do not have any spinner coming up the ranks, who carries a guile in his bowling to actually pip Bhajji; so all the drop bhajji and get abc instead is baseless. Bhajji should be told that irrespective of the boundaries/runs given off him, he will have to bowl with an attacking field. Y'day the kallis dismissal was a fine example why the flight and 'ripping the ball' is the best way for spinner to get the wicket. Right now the problem seems to be, we depend heavily on Zak to wreck the top order and depend on bhajji to finish the job (which is very unreasonably to both the bowlers). Link to comment

spectre
He bowled very well in this test, kudos to him. Thats what we all wanted to see in our most experienced spinner, the aggression and the guile But it cant hide the extremely defensive and dart throwing he was doing over a period of time. If this performance makes him go back to his proper off-spin bowling with flight and turn with occasional wrong ones, its good for the team Maybe Harbhajan,Zaheer and Sreesanth should play only test matches. They are completely useless in ODIs, as does most of our other bowlers Link to comment
cochise_2.0
Didn't Harbhajan say he bowled from the heart? Who will denigrate him for that now? Hmmm? Link to comment
