Anakin Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Let Mendis play for few years first. Most batsmen will figure him out by then.
cowboysfan Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Let Mendis play for few years first. Most batsmen will figure him out by then. i dont know why every body wants to put down mendis-he is a once in a generation spinner and if he plays as long as warne and murali then he may well considered their equal-i have recognized his geniusness.
Lord Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 i dont know why every body wants to put down mendis-he is a once in a generation spinner and if he plays as long as warne and murali then he may well considered their equal-i have recognized his geniusness. bcoz till now only his skill has been tested, which is awesome.but once he is found out,his temperament n mental toughness will be tested.that'll be a much bigger test.until he passes that,he cant be a great.
Fontaine Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 There are two facts we need to digest: 1. Harbhajan is not as good as some of us think he is. He has many weaknesses. 2. Still he is the best we have. Actually there's more. Bhajji can be such a wonderful, attacking and dangerous spin bowler in the subcontinent. He's done it in the past but since his finger/hand injury a couple of years ago he doesn't bowl up to his potential. That's the only problem I have with him. It would be different if he was new in the side, but he's one of our most experienced players so he knows all the tricks, the variations, loop etc. We've all seen him bowl like that from time to time. He just doesn't do it consistently enough and that's not lack of talent, or ability, that's purely his mentality. The same mentality that's gotten him into trouble with match referees and other players when slapping them around. What I WILL say though to be fair, is that we've played top teams all year like Sri Lanka, SA, Australia, England, etc so it's not like he was out there getting loads of wickets against Bangladesh or New Zealand like a lot of other bowlers have.
cochise Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Bhajji should learn legspin from Laxman Sivaramakrishnan as a teesra surprise delivery. Many wickets will come.
graphic23 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 BUMPity bump. Actually, probably too early as it is only the first session of the match but Mishra has comfortably out bowled him. :headshake: Dart throwing
vvvslaxman Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Expect some statistics being reeled out :hysterical:
graphic23 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Inspite of a first day pitch helping out spinners, what does Bhajji do? Throw darts on the leg stump. :headshake:
Andy Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 He bowls too fast. Perhaps he is in the ODI mode. And his middle leg line in a test match sux. Is he scared of getting cut?
saneindian Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Bhajji has lost his confidence totally. Looks clueless when a batsman tries to attack him. Hopefully with some stroke of luck, he picks up a few wickets to get back into rhythm.
Fontaine Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Why should this performance be of any surprise? Bhajji bowling to two new batsman after Khan did all the work with the openers and the pitch turns and Bhajji sucks again.
King Tendulkar Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Yeah and Mishra is smoking them in comparison:haha: Judging a spinner on a day 1of a test is one of the biigest mistakes a cricket watcher can do!
Lord Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Yeah and Mishra is smoking them in comparison:haha: Judging a spinner on a day 1of a test is one of the biigest mistakes a cricket watcher can do! what good is a spinner if he can only take wickets on 4th n 5th day. even Graeme Swann regularly too wickets on first day in SA series
King Tendulkar Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 what good is a spinner if he can only take wickets on 4th n 5th day. even Graeme Swann regularly too wickets on first day in SA series So Mishra is cr.ap as well then. Gives Oijha a go as well next test if he does not go through them day 1 then he is cr.ap as well, better we play with no spinners then:giggle: Not saying bhaji can't take wickets day 1 as has done before. Just everyone knows that a spinner taking wickets day 1 etc is difficult and not done regularly.
Lord Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 So Mishra is cr.ap as well then. King Tendulkar Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Mishra has bowled 10 overs more then Bhaji this innings and still has not got a wicket.
Fontaine Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Mishra has bowled 10 overs more then Bhaji this innings and still has not got a wicket. What nonsense. Bhajji is the most experienced bowler in the team, and your other excuse is nonsense as well about the first day because there was enough moisture in the pitch early to get real good turn. Even the commentators are remarking about what a bad day this guy has had. He's like the Agarkar of spin bowlers!! :hysterical:
Andy Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Bhajji Lunatics can jump and protest, but the conclusion is bhajji is not the bowler wat he was 2 years back, overall he is crap now. Bhajji sux big time and he sud be dropped wid mishra. And i stand by this opinion.
CSK Fan Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 So Mishra is cr.ap as well then. They try to compare his performance on a match by match basis with new comers completely ignoring the fact that Bhajji has been given a long run for years compared to the few matches played by the otehr spinners.
CSK Fan Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Mishra has bowled 10 overs more then Bhaji this innings and still has not got a wicket. You know the reason why a new comer was given so many more voers than Bhajji, right? Bhajji couldnt even contain the runs
