I have been to Kashmir (at the age of 7), Delhi, Agra, Banaras, Lucknow, Himachal, Chandigarh in North Sikkim, Darjeeling, Kolkata, in East. Udaipur, Jaipur & other places in Rajasthan, Gujarat (of course) & Maharashtra (being marathi), Goa in west. Cochin, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kanyakumari, in South. My parents are fond of traveling and I thank them for showing me my country. Without this much of travel, it would have been hard for me to understand India. I wish I can travel to other places I have missed out.

Iam a old dog that has been around but if you like historical monuments/culture/art ..... visit Hampi , Mysooru Palace , Belur - Halebeedu in Kannada naadu otherwise known as Karnataka. Guaranteed blood rush. Hampi is got a musical temple carved in stone. No ****** has ever been able to replicate that ever again. I last visited that way back in 1983 and it was working back then and it should still be. Mysore palace is a jaw droppping palace and more than the jewelry and glitz its the 3-D painting by Raja Ravi Verma where the shadow moves as you move is something that words cannot describe. There is sooooooo many other things at soo many other places. Mumbai and Poona have sooo much Maratha history too ... very humbling and makes one proud. PS: You now know why DR , Sandy and someone else is sooo passionate about Indian heritage. I have been to mysore actually, visited a palace there as well - dont remember but it was a tourist spot for sure where they took around the place, I was like "idhar daru peene main kya maza aayega "..but u got it, its the magical jaw dropping, historical places which actually talk to you You mentioned lotta places in the south, and this Story of India I was talking abt is mostly abt south - and its just awesome

I can do quite a few things using my finger tips (on the phone keypad) that would have been considered impossible a decade ago. I remember when I was small someone laughing at the concept of Kubera's air plane that he could talk to. Now there are planes with hardware and software that can take verbal commands. I can give thousand such examples. May be someday science will find some technology enabling a man to lift a large rock.

Planes etc are the evolution of machines, but we're talking about a human/living person here. How can anyone lift a mountain? Even if Science helped him do that, what happened to that Science after that? and why did no one do it before or since? Most of these epics are nothing but mythology, collection of fancy tales meant to be told by old grandmothers to their young grand-kids so that they can go to sleep.

Quite breathtaking. Apart from that Belur, Halebidu, a lot of temples in the west coast of Karnataka. After college and work, it's been only cities with people and buildings.
