In fact i don't remember seeing him in a cap .... other than maybe for an ad or something....

Last time I saw him without a helmet on was during a triangular series featuring India,West Indies and New Zealand in 1994.I'd bet my bottom dollar that he never ever batted wearing a cap during International matches after that series!

I thought so. I have seen Azhar, Jadeja, Dravid, Ganguly, Yuvraj, Robin Singh, Dhoni and numerous others bat helmet-less and even cap-less but i can't remember seeing Tendulkar bat without a helmet on any occasion - at least during the time i have watched Indian cricket. 1990, 1994 sounds about right.
