Shane Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Looks like the Knives are out and from the usual suspects, patience gentlemen, as vvvs said this boy has spunk, he reminds me a lot of the South African chap Van der Meerwe, 100% commitment in the field, good variations with the ball and can also wield the willow too. Yesterday he was thrown at the deep end in alien conditions and asked to perform, he did well imo. Love it or Hate it, we will see more of this chap in LOI's to come (may be not in this WC) but he is defn one for the future.
Lord Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 unfair to blame Jadeja.170 was a too much of a score.our fielding was sloppy.dhoni put down a simple but important catch.Yusuf dropped one too towards the end.we can't even hope to win it if we keep dropping catches
sangrock Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I am really impressed. The last time I saw play at the IPL, he was very raw. He was a natural hitter and had a lot of power, but his shot selection lacked discretion. I didnt see him bowl today and only saw him bat for 5-6 overs, but was pleasantly surprised to see him quite organized. He played the spinners with ease, which is something given this is his first match against Murali+Mendis. It remains to be seen who the team management prefers; Yusuf or Jadeja. Yusuf is clearly the more explosive of the two, while Jadeja seems the more reliable bat. But overall, he is a terrific addition to the ODI squad. Jadeja seems to be a better ODI batsman than T20. He has the shots, but he has a very smart head on his shoulders. He is not as explosive and talented as Raina, but he is a very smart player and deserves to be in the T20 team, and the ODI team too. In both cases - lower in the order, 5 or 6.

Texy Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 **** Jadeja....can't play t20....saala badluck to this team...whenever he's in the team we have lost
rahulrulezz Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 He is good for Test Cricket. he is good for NOTHING
Trichromatic Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 6 fifties in last 13 test. Batting average of 45 and bowling avg of 23. His 50 in final test against Aus is probably his best inning. Showed desire to stay on crease, fought hard and overcame very good bowling.
CoverDrive Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 People may rate Jadeja but not sure he rates himself. At that position these runs are expected of him. If you get a 50 you go on to get a 100. You are selling yourself short otherwise. That is difference between Ashwin and Jadeja
