not really...i mean asides from sharma there isn't anyone faster than sohail or gul...heck i'll bet gul has hit 150 more often than sharma who only managed to get close to it in australia. calling sharma an express bowler is like saying pathan is a fast medium cuz he once hit 142 k.

^ I would much rather have someone who can bowl at 140+ at a consistent pace and swing rather than have Umar Gul or Sohail or whoever else the heck that Pakistan claims to be superfast and the fastest bowler on the planet.

I know it doesn't count for much, but ironically (at least to the neighbors), Sohail Khan, the next pace sensation is mentioned as a right medium fast and Gul as fast-medium, whereas Ishant is mentioned as right-arm fast.

I've not paid that much attention to the radar here, but I haven't seen either Sohail or Gul going near/over 140 with any sort of regularity. I've seen quite a few from Arafat in the 120s as well. By Kriterion's logic, wouldn't that just mean Arafat's a medium pacer and Gul/Sohail are medium-fast?

The only sad part to this is - the Mahela Jayawoddinna and Samaraweeras are boosting their averages in scoring 100s and possibly 200 today on pancakes against Awesome Phaassth bolars!

whats harm in there fineleg. Jayawardene, regardless how much ever he he has scored on a flat track, i think he has been one of their top class test batsman and deserve to get those big hundreds which he is getting. More props to Jayardene, since he is batting against pak.

The worst part is Arafat has been the best bowler but gets the least attention because he's only been bowling in the 120s and low 130s. He got a 5WI in the Bangalore test, his debut test, and no appreciation because he's not as fast. Its good though, Pakistan know how to fail, and as long as we don't do what they're doing, we're guaranteed at least a basic level of success.

Gul's pace last over (the only one where I made an effort to see the speed of each ball): 124.5 125.4 126.6 133.5 130.3 132.7 Back to the "asides from sharma there isn't anyone faster than sohail or gul" remark: WRONG. Pretty much anyone except Balaji, Pathan and Praveen, really...
