lack of education, poor economy, protectionist federal policy, and overwhelming presence of the law enforcement/military that have transformed into draconian overlords... i have lost patience with both the government and the people of kashmir. neither is willing to make a genuine effort for peace. save the money and invest it in say ladhakh and jammu. frack kashmir.

there is a central principle to personal freedoms: in a true democracy, no personal freedom may be infringed upon, regardless of the voice of the majority. its the one principle that has kept the freedom of choice alive in spite of dipshyts like reagan and bush senior. we in india are ignorant of this principle. if there are parts of our nation that wish to secede, then instead of ridiculing them, maybe one ought to hold a plebiscite.

Don't you think that the people in the Kashmiri valley don't want militarisation- from the Pakistani-supported fighters or Indian army? They want peace. A right to live in peace...like you and I. I know this from the people I know in the valley. There's no issue about N.Areas, Azad Kashmir, Jammu or Ladakh- 2/4 want India, 2/4 want Pakistan....it's the valley that's the major issue. If it was sorted out, then India could stop wasting their money on military up there and Pakistan could actually spend money on other things minus military.

P.S. it would be good to see if you answered the question rather than give me rhetorical ones :P

Tbh, I agree with this. At least Jammu and Ladakh want India there. Also, it is a burden on India's military and economy. I reckon they should have Aksai Chin, Jammu and Ladakh and let the valley decide it's own fate.....this region has been a drain on both countries for 60 + years

Probably bad propaganda. Army kills one protester who was fighting with police so then it only prompts more reaction by Kashmiris. The sad thing is there really is no solution other than more and stronger army presence I feel. As afterall no matter how hard India try( already 50 years), nothing will happen as it is really about religion.

if they dont wanna be with India' date=' why the dheng do we cling onto them. cut the cancer away.[/quote'] Kashmir is militarily strategically important as a himalayan corridor, especially considering that we are not exactly in jovial terms with China.. letting them be 'independent' in between 3 large countries is a fantasy

Kashmir should be handled with a firm hand.. no offense but the separatists somehow needs to end or vanish .. dont ask me how .. whoever indulges in violent protests screw them up .. integrity of the country cannot be sacrificed at all .. anything should be discussed within the rules of the Indian constitution and secession is forbidden in our constitution .. not to mention any such act would revive all the secessionist movements that have died down in the last 6 decades .. giving job, development, economic help is fine but secession should not be and cannot be discussed in any circumstances

I just wish we take a Chinese action.
