I generally hold your views on fast bowling quite highly, but you got it wrong this time dude.
Thanks man, the feeling is mutual.
Pathan is faster than RPS? And gets more bounce than RPS? Watch this video; -Hwhn6kJOgM Same pitch, same conditions and same speed gun and RPS is atleast 8-10 kmph quicker than Irfan on average. And look at the bounce he got when he dismissed Gilchrist.
Yes, RP Singh was faster but I think Irfan was really trying to get as much swing as possible and dropped his pace down compared to when he was bowling in the T20s and didn't try for swing as much as was bowling around 135 plus for a lot of his deliveries. But maybe you're right.

Guys, pls dont mix ODI and test cricket. Nobody is going to attack Munaf if he keeps bowling line and length all day. Some variety will help, but at present he is still a very good 3rd seamer and can control the flow of runs unlike the illustrious Zak.

I meant that even though Zak is a very good bowler' date=' he cant control the flow of runs in test cricket.[/quote'] Really? We must be talking about 2 different Zaks then - last 4 innings:
21.0 3 76 3 3.61 1 2 v England Mohali 19 Dec 2008 Test # 1901
3.0 0 11 0 3.66 1 4 v England Mohali 19 Dec 2008 Test # 1901
21.0 9 41 2 1.95 1 1 v England Chennai 11 Dec 2008 Test # 1898
27.0 7 40 3 1.48 1 3 v England Chennai 11 Dec 2008 Test # 1898
On a patta wicket at Chennai, he bowled 48.0 overs at an economy of 1.69 rpo. I think thats pretty amazing. Given how Pietersen hit a quick century at Mohali and so many runs were scored there, he had an economy of 3.625 rpo. The series before that (one aberration is the 7.12 against Hayden and Katich, who came just hitting everything and were skittled for 195-odd runs in the end:
28.0 8 68 1 2.42 1 2 v Australia Nagpur 6 Nov 2008 Test # 1892
8.0 0 57 0 7.12 1 4 v Australia Nagpur 6 Nov 2008 Test # 1892
23.0 5 86 0 3.73 1 2 v Australia Delhi 29 Oct 2008 Test # 1891
DNB - - - - - 4 v Australia Delhi 29 Oct 2008 Test # 1891
25.0 7 56 1 2.24 1 2 v Australia Mohali 17 Oct 2008 Test # 1889
15.0 3 71 3 4.73 1 4 v Australia Mohali 17 Oct 2008 Test # 1889
Record in NZ (back when he was very raw):
13.2 4 29 5 2.17 1 2 v New Zealand Hamilton 19 Dec 2002 Test # 1633
13.0 0 56 1 4.30 1 4 v New Zealand Hamilton 19 Dec 2002 Test # 1633
25.0 8 53 5 2.12 1 2 v New Zealand Wellington 12 Dec 2002 Test # 1631
3.0 0 13 0 4.33 1 4 v New Zealand Wellington 12 Dec 2002 Test # 1631

And thats 2 5WI right there. The economy of 2.78 by giving away 151 runs throughout the whole tour.

The Kiwis arleady know that Patel is mentally weak from the way he bowled in the ODIs so they will target him and see how he responds which is usually by falling apart.

Here's his performance in the last couple of years. Economy rate of 3.2...(pls dont bring up the stats of last NZ tour...Even Bradman wouldnt have been able to score on those pitches). http://stats.cricinfo.com/statsguru/engine/player/30102.html?class=1;spanmin1=1+Sep+2006;spanval1=span;template=results;type=bowling

Btw, people picking Balaji must be nuts...On a pitch where domestic NZ bowlers were picking up 3-4 wickets, Balaji picked up a solitary wicket. Munaf over Balaji any day. Dhawal I havent seen much so cant comment. Need to think more on the 2 spinners theory. Currently I'd pick Munaf if it's a seaming wicket. If it's a batting wicket then might go for Mishra (his googlies can do the trick against NZers but he didnt impress in the first class match).

daadaji is not worth to play for india until he resolves his bowling matters, work on his bowling, RPS is fit and playing in domestic, i dont why he is out, he was best Indian bowler in AUS test series, last year, best bowler in T20 WC. Sreesanth is injured again and not playing dom. one dayers. Balaji looks ruubish in IPL and against Sl to play in tests. DK is the best possible 3rd seamer because he is new and wants show his meattle and eager to learn with ZAK and IS.
