Lurker Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 still living at peddar road I guess, one of his pupils happened to my freinds brother in law who bored the bazookas outta us at a drinking session, he went on and on and on abt viju shah during the mohra run- it was that day and hearing his name now I guess rajiv rai moved to UK and he stopped his music too I kinda liked Viju Shah and his brand of music. Most of his popular hits were rip off ranging from Gloria Estefan to Pet Shop Boys but they were good tunes. He had assisted Kalyanji Anandji behind the scenes in many a movie and one of the rumours that I have heard is Viju Shah was largely responsible for Kanchan's Laila Main Laila (Qurbani). He also had an album out in 90s with Amit Kumar. It was really awesome but I lost it and have never found it in stores again.

My friend wanted to get drunk in grief, but he couldnt because of the exams. So he drank plain water and promised the late Divya that he would drink neat once the exams were over....which he did.

The Outsider Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I always felt Viju Shah had a few good tunes and compositions when he entered the industry and once he ran out of them, he ran out of steam. Probably not creative and prolific enough to survive in the mass production required in Bollywood where on average a successful music director could have 20+ releases in a year during those days. It was a torture listening to some album of his which came out 4-5 years back - forgot the name of the movie, some Arjun Rampal/Priyanka Chopra botboiler from Rajiv Rai. I thought Mohra was his best work.
