cowboysfan Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 there should be a moratorium on more splits of states.there are parts of all most all the states today who wants to split(or join another state)and frankly its getting ridiculous.

Most states have done better once they have seperated from their mother states. Some really big states will be better off being split for better administration. It should not be allowed on silly issues like language or culture.
nikred Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 The north is better ......but south is the best.B->
suraj Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Jammu and Kashmir- best Indian state and anyone who attempts to take any part of it away- F*** you:finger::finger:
Macj Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Say what you wish about inter-regionalism , but South India is relatively more prosperous than the North right now. But the North has always been the vanguard of the ideal once called 'Bharath'. It once led the rest of India in Sanskritic culture , science, mathematics and medicine. Aryabhata, Brahmagupta arguably the greatest mathematician to have ever lived are all from N India. Remember all the ancient seats of learning e.g. Nalanda U were all in North India. The great religious and theosophical schools of thought all originated in North India. In once sweep of history such glory was trampled upon with the advent of Islam in the 8th century onwards wherein N India faced the brunt of this onslaught. In other words, N India sacrificed itself for the South and I will dare say that some of the relative peace we enjoy in the South is because of this sacrifice of our Northern blood brothers.

At least we got the Kebabs. There is a lot of truth in what you say, but the Islamic invasion also meant a lot of cultural mixing took place, so while the north-western border region, and northern region to some extent was always in turmoil, it does mean that North India developed a distinct cultural identity of its own.

hassan_113 Posted March 19, 2009 Author Posted March 19, 2009 Jammu and Kashmir- best Indian state and anyone who attempts to take any part of it away- F*** you:finger::finger: Like you've even got any Kashmiri blood in you anyway. You've tried to bast***ise the whole thread by trying to stir up an argument with me. And remember, Jammu and Kashmir includes Pak-controlled Kashmir where my mum and a lot of my lot are from, so you are not speaking on everyone's behalf :) But J&K is the most beautiful part of S.Asia, no doubt. That includes Pak Dadyal, Mirpur, Bhimber and Ind Srinagar, Ladakh.

He could be one of the million Kashmiri pandits that were forced to run away from their homes because the messengers of religion of peace decided to do some cleansing, that they are world famous for ?
Macj Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Macj, Dont forget Srinivasa Ramanujan (ஸ்ரீநிவாச ராமானுஜன்) I didnt forget him, but his treatises were from foundations stemming from Western mathematics, whereas the ancient Indian mathematicians' foundations were purely indigenous.Thought I'd refer to them since their contributions were at time when great strides in Sciences and Mathematics was achieved by Indians.

hassan_113 Posted March 19, 2009 Author Posted March 19, 2009 Then stop stirring then. Cuz obviously you haven't.
Macj Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Then stop stirring then. Cuz obviously you haven't. Likewise you shouldnt be stirring the pot with your statements on Kashmiri relatives. I've read of Kashmiri Pandits who left with just the clothes on their backs, living in abject poverty and are forced to carry nightsoil to make a living. So dont expect an iota of sympathy.
