How people bash Modi as an IPL organizer is beyond me Its not Modi, who didn't want IPL to be held in India this year....it was the Govt There was virtually no other slot for IPL this year...we all know what happened to Champions League, when it got postponed, courtesy our friendly neighbors Agreed its domestic tournament, this is an circumstance thrusted upon BCCI and not willingly done by them Recollect how many schedules they drafted and how many state govt's backtracked in the last minute Give it to the guy who wants to hold an International level Indian cricket tournament, even after pushed to the corner They don't want to break the league, suppose, if it gets cancelled this year and by circumstances also misses out next year, people will forget and there would be no IPL after that It would be viewed as a failure and not resumed They want to keep the league running every year, and i dont see anything wrong with that IPL brought joy and entertainment to millions of cricket lovers and general public, and no reason why it should not be allowed to stage this year

They could have shorten the tournament and played in fewer venues in India' date=' but Modi proved again what matters more to BCCI. Indian domestic competition being held outside of India is a joke. Atleast Pakistan plays its domestic tournaments in Pakistan. :--D[/quote'] Pakistan playing International matches in Pakistan is the JOKE, and Bangladesh pwning you, refusing to host is the BIGGER JOKE

They don't give a penny about which royal or king win in the end. b/w politics and cricket shouldn't be mixed. :--D

Pakistan playing International matches in Pakistan is the JOKE' date=' and Bangladesh pwning you, refusing to host is the BIGGER JOKE[/quote'] Well they are having their own little political turmoil, so it's understandable. Their government wasn't certain about the security so they called off the tour, as your government wasn't certain about the security and moved domestic competition out of 'domesticland.' So don't get carried away by thinking that Bangladesh refused just b/c they don't wan't to play against us.

IPL is a Indian tournment, offcourse its not ideal to hold it outside India, so what, we actually have the show running And with a great neighbor caring more about us than their own sh1t, we aint taking chances

Moving IPL to SA or England is a short term fix whatever the pros and cons Now if he can just move Pakistan to SA or England, Lalit Modi will be my true hero!! A lot of our problems besides cricket will be solved !!

MODI has a look of an evil....like Dick Cheney .... it's all about business for him after all 95% of the revenue comes from TV viewership. This is unbelievable that people of India can't take their families to watch a game in their home towns while these rich *****holes will take their jets and fly off to S.Africa to watch INDIAN domestic tournament. he pulled out IPL from Jaipur...even before central govt released any statement regarding security...just coz he lost elections there.

Ullu ka pattha is ready to postpone it by one week outside India ,but was hell bent on not making any adjustments in India. Most of the states have not even sent their report. Two states had agreed and two had sugested moving the dates to after elections. He couldn't make those adjustments but is ready to hold it outside without any guarentees.I hope the counties that are wanting to host squeeze this scumbag dry and then makehim give a speech praising the ICL and its players....

Unnecessary bashing.Modi would have been the last person who wanted IPL to be played outside India! I have been following him on a daily basis on TV and must say he never looked so jaded and disappointing than yesterday, the day BCCI decided to shift IPL out of India. Couple of days back Gaurav Kalra, CNN-IBN cricket correspondent showed the fax copies of approval from various states. Most of the states were not happy hosting IPL matches before election in their respective states and with such crowded FTP,IPL organisers were left with no choice. Either to scrap the whole tournament or go ahead and arrange it in another country. It was not just Modi's wish. All franchise owners preferred the tournament to be held and not called off this year. What about Maharashtra and AP Govts back tracking after sending their approval letter. Mind you both states are ruled by Congress and not to speak of Ashok Ghelot, Rajasthan CM who is hell bent on teaching Modi a lesson for his close association with Vasundhra Raje.
