fineleg Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Is this summary correct? The WI tour is missing from the ICC Future Tours Program? http://www.cricinfo.com/database/FORTHCOMING/FUTURE_TOURS/2009.html April-May: IPL June: IPL (thanks p-khota for correcting this) July: India in West Indies!? (tri series!??) - not showing in ICC FTP Then OCT: Aus in India ODIs only Dec 2009: Sri Lanka in India (3Tests, 5ODIs) So, we next play Tests only in Dec 2009? Big period of no International cricket for Dravid, Laxman, Amit Mishra et.al.

There is T20 world cup in June. Don't know about India in West Indies. Also, there is Champions Trophy sometime in Sept. I think. yeah, tests maybe >>>>ODIs >>>>>>T20, but the frequency of tests <<< ODIs and T20s. So Drawvid and Co will play in IPL and then can enjoy some idli-dosa for 6 months.
yoshi Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 what a boring year... i would have thought the bcci would want to schedule more tests to show of the fab three lets face it the clocks ticking on them all
fineleg Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 what a boring year... i would have thought the bcci would want to schedule more tests to show of the fab three lets face it the clocks ticking on them all Exactly - we have great Test players now. RD, VVS, SRT may not be there after a few years. Right now, these middle order batsmen are in good form and they are the core of this team. I really hope BCCI can arrange for some Test tours when these players are fit and available! After they retire, the T20 and ODI specialist batsmen may take over some of the Test spots (we already have one such after SG retired).

If India is going great guns in test, it is dumb to have no tests until Dec.
Sachinism Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I'm sure BCCI will set up tours to somewhere or invite someone to come over, so relax and just wait
bharat297 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 October to December will be good. Hopefully we can shatter the Aussies once again, and then exact revenge on Sri Lanka for what happened last year.
bharat297 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 No Tests till December gives Ponting some time to catch up to Sachin.
spectre Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 There is also the Ind-SA-Zim tri series in July Though SA cricket board haven't confirmed it..its organized by BCCI so it will most probably go thro
cowboysfan Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 No Tests till December gives Ponting some time to catch up to Sachin. he can do that just in the ASHES.
flamy Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 No Tests till December gives Ponting some time to catch up to Sachin. excellent. Sachin would love some competition right?
Don Sharma Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 July: India in West Indies!? (tri series!??) - not showing in ICC FTP I think it is a four match series in WI.
