MS Dhoni (captain) Virender Sehwag Gautam Gambhir Suresh Raina Yuvraj Singh Yusuf Pathan Rohit Sharma Ravindra Jadeja Irfan Pathan R P Singh Pragyan Ojha This would be my ideal 11. No Z Khan, not enough match practice, No Ishant, not good enough for T20 Two swing bowlers in Pathan/Singh Four spin options to take the pace off the ball And a side that is PACKED full of batting and big hitters.
Formidable Batting Line-up, but imo we are one seamer short and Bhaj has showed in a few games here, that he can bowl well, if and when he can keep himself from the darts and in terms of the overall package, Bhaj gets my nod.

I agree with Shane-Dhoni will go with Bhajji.I would also drop ishant .Lets hope Zak recovers because taking wickets in the first 6 overs is very important in T20 games.

My XI Gambhir Sehwag Raina Dhoni Rohit Yuvraj Jadeja Yusuf Zaheer Ishant RP Singh Irfan Pathan shall get tonked around at the international level. His batting doesnt make up. We need accurate bowlers. On second thought he may be included in place of Gambhir if Gambhir's ordinary form continues. Bhajji not included due to his poor form with the ball and availability of part time spinners in good form. Ojha not included because he is unidimensional Ishant and zaheer included because of their fantastic economy rates in IPL and their experience at the level.

really? :heeeelllllooooo:
Realitively speaking that is. Among seamers only RP , Malinga , Nehra and Amit Singh have better economy rates than zak / ishant. And the latter 2 are trundlers not suitable for international cricket.

Ishant is a kind of bowler who can bowl a real bad over at any point. Probability is very high for him compared to others. Because he frequently bowls no balls. Sometimes he tends to get carried away with his short stuffs. I think Praveen has better control than Ishant. Also Praveen can swing both ways which will be helpful in English conditions.

to make it even stronger,i would have Bhajji or even Jadeja instead of Ojha

For the moment let's forget about experience, previous history etc etc. Let's just look at current form for the bowlers: Rp Singh, highest wicket taker, 6th best average/strike rate among regular bowlers, and a very decent economy. Ojha, Jadeja, also fall into this category. Their strike rates/economy/average are all very very good as a combination and Rohit Sharma is proving invalueable as a spin option also. I would have Ojha/Jadeja ahead of Bhajji because he's looked a lot worse in the recent IPL (although Bhajji did have good performances in the NZ tour so he has to be in the squad). I'm happy as long as these two of these three make it in the starting 11.

nah, there will be only 1 spinner n it'll be bhajji although i wouldn't mind Jadeja

nah' date='there will be only 1 spinner n it'll be bhajji although i wouldn't mind Jadeja[/quote'] Why would you have only one spinner when it's been proven in the IPL that it's much more difficult to put away good spin for boundaries?

because we have plenty of part time spin option but not one part time seam option.n things may be different in England

The seam option is only realistic in England if they can get it to swing consistently, otherwise pace and bounce won't be enough and the boundaries will fly. Two swing options should be enough be it Pathan/Rp or Zaheer/RP. I don't see another standout swing bowler that merits taking a place as a bowler. Maybe Praveen but he hasn't had a great IPL. I suppose the individual grounds and players up for that 3rd bowler spot will decide it.

it should swing n i'll play IKP n RP n Zak.between PK n Ishant,i'll prefer PK. But I'll agree that if it doesn't swing ,two spinners can play.in that case i'll still have Jadeja instead of Ojha

Yeah it's difficult to tell at this stage but looking at the latest test between Eng WI Anderson was finding very good inswing and some outswing that really fooled the Windies. I really hope RP Singh brings his best game because every time this guy is match fit he looks lethal. He's got that ability to swing the ball, bravely pitch it up without fear, and has a genuine bowler's mentality. I've rarely if ever seen him get disheartened or intimidated by batsmen having a go at him. He always responds by going back to his natural strength in getting great seam position and hitting that good line and there are plenty of other more hyped bowlers that can't do this under pressure. I also like the fact that in the recent IPL it really looks like RP has put on more muscle and looks a stronger bowler as opposed to a couple of years ago when he was just a skinny kid.
