amits Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 whats the need to select former players like avishkar salvi in the xi, go with 5 bowlers. and not select players like amit mishra & mcgrath????? avishkar salvi, even went for 36 runs off 2 overs
amits Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 i was saying amit mishra should be there instead of former player salvi
Laaloo Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 @ny0ne wh0 criticize delhi te@m is @n impure Indian
ViruRulez Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 McGrath should have in the squad instead of the opening bowler who got hit for consecutive fours and sixes ... rest was not that bad BTW IPL should not increase number of foreign players to 5 .. it would turn even more interesting if there are five foreign players
vipin Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 where is umesh Yadav injured I agree with amit this time. they should have played mcgrath instead of dick nanny and amit mishra instead of salvi. whatta team that would be. Champs written all over.
diegovegaz Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 glenn should come in for nannes salvi must make way for mishra vettori and mishra, a lethal spin duo perhaps, rajat bhatia needs to be given a game ahead of tiwary
flamy Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Delhi looking strong. If they get in McG and Mishra..... w00t  That's like 12 overs of minimal scoring and with their batting lineup :woot: This IPL is raaks.
youngindia Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 fluke win. CSK will take revenge second time around as we did last year.
amits Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 glenn should come in for nannes salvi must make way for mishra vettori and mishra, a lethal spin duo perhaps, rajat bhatia needs to be given a game ahead of tiwary thats what i was saying
bharat297 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Yeah I dont understand the logic behind their team selections either. They have a pretty good squad to choose from.
Desi Cartman Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 fluke win. CSK will take revenge second time around as we did last year. :yawn2: Me thinks we just need to include McGrath
Freedom Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Can anyone in the world explain me why McGrath has been left out of the playing eleven?
ritwik Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Can anyone in the world explain me why McGrath has been left out of the playing eleven? Because Dirk Nannes is considered the premier Twenty20 specialist bowler in the world. Just give him some time. Even yesterday, he kept it pretty tight in the last over.
ViruRulez Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Because Dirk Nannes is considered the premier Twenty20 specialist bowler in the world. Just give him some time. Even yesterday' date=' he kept it pretty tight in the last over.[/quote'] :nono: Three matches is a lot of time in T20 ... Dont forget that McGrath was the most economical DD bowler in IPL 1 .. and genius such as Warne, McGrath, Gilchrist, Hayden, Kumble etc. do not lose their touch even after retirement .. I can guarantee that McGrath will bowl a much better spell then Nannes if he comes in the next game Nannes has not taken a single wicket till now in the two matches and is going steadily at 8 RPO ... at least McGrath will bowl a better spell and also take a few wickets and I am sure about that
amits Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 mcgrath has to be there instead of nannes. nannes can get a game if 1 of the foreign batsman r being rested. and mishra has to be there instead of salvi. and maybe mithun manhas(who avges 50+ in domestic odis) can be given a go ahead of manoj tiwary. the team should look like sehwag gambhir ab devilliers dilshan/warner mithun manhas/rajat bhatia dinesh kartik(w) vettori mishra sangwan nehra mcgrath
