ViruRulez Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Change default torrent port, encrypt your torrent traffic and you'll be alright. Or use the Onion router. Regarding piracy in India, Jeffrey Archer was here last year to launch his brand new book(yet to be released). His car stopped at a traffic signal en route to the hotel where his book launch was. And what did he see there - A hawker selling copies of the very book which he was going to officially launch. :D :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Frankly speaking without software piracy it would have been almost impossible for India to have produced the highest no. of IT professionals in the world .. so I still respect piracy because it has helped in the growth of our country too :hatsoff:
ViruRulez Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 India's Copyright law is "Copying is our right" On a sidenote: Fantastic author JA! :hatsoff: I dont agree India's copyright law is "Copying is our right" If you say that what would you say about China who have officially appointed hacking experts to hack websites of other countries.. piracy flows like anything in China and no world country or organization is allowed by China to interfere in anything within their country .. India goes with world order and there are copyright laws but Chinese do not have any such law
DomainK Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 MS' Windowns latest version was in the market a month before its official launch date. Now they have to find out who leaked it.
coffee_rules Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Are the notices only for downloads ? Soon they will start monitoring streaming too right? I can't watch cricket then..:((

pan_walla Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Rapidshare is safe though if you are only downloading? Only RS knows what you downloading, right? Can someone please confirm? I normally buy all my software but sometimes I download stuff to try out and see if it's worth the money. What about some authority tracking your real identity via your credit card that was used to buy premium account? My chachu is all nervous now.
THX_1138 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Here is the thing: At the moment, if a company, in the process of tracking illegally downloaded software, desires to track down the malfeasants, it requires the cooperation of the ISP of the same. However, while legal battles are still in the process, there are a few ISPs who have categorically refused to cooperate and then there are those punk beyatches who have cooperated by throwing open the details of their customers to such preying companies. the list of ISPs who are providing assistance are those who incidentally provide ISP service in the northeast. most of these companies have carved out territories and offer services exclusively, setting up their own little monopolies (and this was a free economy eh?). so if you are in the northeast, and downloading anything other than basic cable television shows and porn, you can expect big brother to come knocking. if you have already committed more sins than you wish to remember, here is my advice: do not download software, especially stuff like adobe, microsoft (do not mess with the gates), or any other big ticket software. do not download movies. especially those that are paramount productions. my friend in new jersey received a letter when he downloaded next (with nicolas cage). so yeah, do not download the new star trek movie... the absolute fastest way to get your behind nailed is to download music. especially rap and other hip hop. these pretend hood boys may be keepin it real, but they will sell their mothers if it meant an extra nickel... you to them are nothing but a stealing creep who did not pay that 15.95 for their latest regurgitation. stuff you can download with impunity: freeware, and software from small companies... some of them actually encourage it as it assists them in spreading word of mouth. you may download radio recordings, especially that listed as old time radio (OTR)... i downloaded the original journey in space and i love the show! you may also download shows that are on regular broadcast channels such as CBS (yeah for all the CSI freaks), ABC (desperate and smoking hot wives and lost), and FOX (24, prison break and other shows meant for those with single digit IQs). stay frosty brothers... there is a war out there, and they have the guns, and they have the tanks, and they have the bullets, and all the lawyers you and i can ever count... but we have one thing on our side: axxo! viva la revolucion!

THX_1138 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 thats why I download all illegal stuff at work :isalute: you mean so that when caught, not only does your employer sue your ****, but you are never able to get a job elsewhere? be a man... if you must steal, steal on your own time.
THX_1138 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I recently brought a new HP laptop. The installed version of Microsoft Office is only trial and unless I buy the full version, I wont be able to use Excel, Word etc I thought about downloading the 2007 Microsoft Office from pirate bay, but not so sure now if you have a friend at a public higher education institution, ask him or her to help you gain a subscidized student license. i have three such licenses: two for ms office 2003 and one for ms office 2007 (not to mention three for vista, two 32 bit and one 64 bit... and one for xp 32 bit)... and i wont let you borrow them so dont ask.
EnterTheVoid Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 @ ^ I am still going to download, just a little more caustiously If worse comes to worse, only than will I ask someone else, and believe me, I deteste asking anyone for things I should be capable of achieving myself
THX_1138 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 @ ^ I am still going to download, just a little more caustiously If worse comes to worse, only than will I ask someone else, and believe me, I deteste asking anyone for things I should be capable of achieving myself but you dont mind stealing? though you do feel your ego hamper you form asking for a legal copy of a software for $17... yeah that is what a premier edition of ms office 2007 student license costs. when i said i wont share, i simply meant that i do not think it is right to first buy an authentic copy of the software subsidized by my university and state funds, and then endanger myself by distributing it illegally. let me put it this way, i use all the licenses of the software since i have three machines at home and two run vista 32 and one runs xp 32... i ll be the first to admit that i steal, and i know its wrong. it began as an addiction when i downloaded everything i could lay my hands on... then i ran out of hard disk space and time and motivation. now i download radio recordings and the occassional audio book that i am not motivated enough to read. and i have no problems asking for help. my penis does not seem to contract inches when i admit i need assistance.
THX_1138 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 So download from sites like BwTorrents that has an invite only ? demonoid is best... but very exclusive... i had to wait forever to get an account.
EnterTheVoid Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 Asking for help for something I dont understand = O.K. Relying and pestering others for trivial things I should be able to do on my own = Well, things get un comfortable My point is if you ask anyone, they'd reply "Oh, as if you pay for it. Everybody downloads for free. So why dont you piss off and get it yourself". I know downloading pirated versions is wrong. But everybody does it. Its stealing but meh, doesn't seem to bother anyone else.

THX_1138 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 ^ thanks for understanding my point. cheers get linux if you do not want to part with 199 bucks for office. or use open office. if all else fails, enroll in a public college, get your student id, purchase the software, drop the class before the official reporting day and go home and but the mrs dinner at a fancy place (and then tell us about the awesome nookie imminent thereafter)....
