Even funnier' date= this "world cup" will be held again next year. I have serious problems explaining this "world cup" held every year to my Euro friends. I didn't understand that .Because of WC 2011? .

I believe we only have one test series left in rest of year! God help us if there are 2 IPLs in one year as is rumoured and then there is a world cup every year as well.
goose Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Tendulkar's omission from this side looking rank stupid - he'd have spun a web round every batsman he bowled to. That's not me using harry hindsight. He was sidelined at a time when his career looked over. Then came the resurrection. Why is he not representing India in an ICC world cup event? I won't accept he doesn't want to be involved here. His exclusion from all three formats will be meticulously staged one by one to preserve the very last drops of his brand. You'll never read about him being dropped or discarded (in my opinion that's exactly what's happened here) - the money men won't allow it.

It is a high intensity game. Tendulkar a 100% team man he would give everything on the field and he could hurt himself. No thanks. Let him play Tests and selective ODis.

The only reason for him to show up in both the 50 and 20 over format is to lift world cup silverware. That's the one thing missing from his cv. His exclusion, i think, has a bit to do with Dhoni's insistence on 'looking forward' as much as Tendulkar 'opting out'. When is the next T20 world cup? Dhoni doesn't like playing the percentages. Playing Jadeja at No.4 was straight out of the Joginder death over captaincy manual - pull it off and you're a genius. Dhoni is trying to re-write the well held notion that a captain is only as good as the team. Read the interviews Tendulkar has given recently and you'll see he and Dhoni don't see eye to eye.
