Yadav has been pretty good in tests in the limited opportunities he has got.

Just give them a run and long rope and we will reap the reward I don't know if Aaron belongs there, especially in tests but As of now, India should do a 2+3 package at home ( 2 pacers, 3 spinners) and a 2+2 or 3+1 package overseas. If one of Jadeja/Ashwin's batting pans out, we can try the 3+2 combo overseas. Since our pace attack is optimal with 2 pacers in most test scenarios, it should be two of: Yadav, Shami, Bhuvi, Ishant, Aaron, Pandey & Pankaj. IMO, the pecking order, atleast as of now, should be: Shami, Yadav and the rest. Of the rest, I think Pankaj, Pandey and Aaron all need to play atleast 1 test in Eng-AUS segment and collectively play atleast 4 tests. Whoever amongst the three emerges as the favourite, the 3rd seamer in tests gotto come down between that guy and Ishant for the next season or so. Bhuvi and Shami should lead the ODI pecking order, Yadav and Shami should lead the Test one.

What I would really like to see is a 3+2 approach overseas. Our batting order is open for #5 and #6 IMO, with neither Rohit, not Rahane having done enough to fully nail down their spot. IMO, Rahane should get a stint at #5, atleast in England, to make it his own, while #6, we should be a bit bold and get one of Jadeja, Ashwin or Dhawan(Rishi) to try out at, Dhoni at #7 and one of Jadeja, Ashwin, Mishra at #8. Our bowling is not strong enough to be incisive overseas consistently with 4 bowlers only, especially if we go 3 pacers + 1 spinner. If that is the case, we urgently need a batsman in the top six that can be relied upon to bowl 10 overs or so in an innings, ala Sachin/Veeru/Yuvraj/Ganguly etc.

express bowling Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 India has 2 pacers who can bowl 140 to 150 k. Umesh and Aaron. 3 pacers who can bowl 135 to 145 k. Shami , Shukla and Suyal. 4 tall pacers who get bounce and bowl 130 to 140 k. Ishant, Pandey,Pankaj and Gony. 1 genuine seam and swing bowler . Bhuvi. Out of this lot we should be able to get 2 or 3 good wicket taking pacers provided all of them get fair chance. This last point is not happening.
