Really? U think he would have made any difference? I guess he played in 1st match and still pakis lost ... He got 5 wickets only when Australians were airy fairy shorts to get quick runs .. He was also part of the team which drew NZ .. Can u believe it?? and the only test u won there was cos asif/kaneria and gul panag :D .. So wht is so enchanting abt this bowler? All hype, no bite

Aamer has a lot of talent, no doubt. But I seriously doubt he's going to last long with that front on action of his. Already he's injured and at 17 with the type of effort he bowls at, I can't see him being injury free for long.

If he is managed well, and who knows the PCB might do that just by their sheer dysfunctional nature (cancelling series, etc), he could be the next great paki phasht baller.

One impotent thing i observed about Amer is that he was disguising the ball very well. He was running in behind the umpire when he was coming around the wicket. I remember Waqar Younis and Wasem Akram bowling like that. You see Pakistan has a bowling coach and he is none other then Waqar Younis, and i think he is playing a big role in Amer's success. As an Indian it saddens me to watch us not have a bowling coach and struggle so much in the recent past. Man India has some genuine bowling talent, but we need a bowling coach, may be some one like a Wasem Akram, Waqar Younis, or Alan Donald.

All hatred for Pakistan aside........this guy is A M A Z I N G talent.... 3 wickets in the last ov of that OZ innings along with 2 run outs producing 5 wicket maiden........wow man hope he doesn't become another Charsif (charsi + asif) or fakhtar (fat + akhtar)

Whenever I see him in team and performing this well, for me its actually a pleasure to watch him more because of few other reasons, he is purely a typical pakistani galli mohalla tape ball player who before starting his carrier hardly can afford to purchase his own cricket kit. Probably only 4 to 5 years back he is just a talented kid who can play only in village grounds and can never have any “approach” even at first class level. (As I lie just near his village and personally know his family, his dad is only a college peon and a simplest of man). 100% on merit selected for U 19, then short first class carrier, straight away in T20 World cup, then he never stop and without any gap in ODI and Test squad. Now only because of watching him in international team (within just 3,4 years his travelling from Gali mohalla to T20 WC final at Lords, its actually some real inspiration for kids here) I am forced to believe that in PCB, if not on the large scale but at least somewhere there is some fair criteria working to pick real deserving talent. If he can keep himself fit and avoid to go on path of Shoaib and Asif :P he really have guts to go a long long way, somewhere around the level of Wasim and Waqar.

Im only worried he might be playing too much too soon, I mean he's playing for Pak in all three forms of the game at 18...! They maye should hold him back a little bit. Quality bowler for sure.

Aamir is not even half of a bowler what Asif is. He is one of those bowlers who bowl good spells but doesnt get enough wickets. Asif has destroyed all good batting lines up every where.

Is he really 17 years old to carry the record for youngest bowler to get fifer :winky: (Though when it comes for Night Clubs he is no more 17) He would be tested in crunch situation's at present we have never seen him performing in any pressure cooker situation and winnng a match for Pakistan, it would be better to wait and judge things ....................... even Ryan Harris, Bollinger has won matches for Australia by their performance but theyhave not been so overated like Aameer is who had performed in Patches without any pressure .........

In Pakistan even half decent performance comes once in a blue moon unlike Australia they produce one match winner after another. So they get hyped more than they actually deserve to.

but at the same time, australia have produced, mcgrath, warne and ponting, and we've produced Imran Khan, wasim, waqar, and now aamer. only difference is they play as australians(under australian management and mindset, and our players as a pakistani( anything pakistani is never going to be perfect)
